Old City Apartment

Грузинская квартира в старом доме старого города. Дом хорошо передает атмосферу старого города. В Грузии главной ценность являются человеческие взаимоотношения и гостеприимство, с этим полный порядок. Спасибо большое хозяйке Катино за теплый прием. В доме просто, чисто, есть все необходимое для проживания. Хорошим дополнением был камин. Треск горящих дров в камине был особенно приятен в дождливую погоду. Спасибо за гостеприимство!

В феврале в доме было немного прохладно, но это совершенно не критично.

Let me start by saying—we're not the picky kind. For us, it’s always location, location, and once again—location. And this place delivered. Freedom Square, the Peace Bridge, the Rezo Gabriadze Theater, and the iconic Tbilisi sulfur baths—everything is just a short walk away.At the same time, the street itself is pleasantly quiet and tucked away, so the city's hustle and bustle never disturbed us. Instead, we had the delight of overlooking a classic Georgian courtyard. One of our favorite spots was the apartment’s cozy veranda. We had our breakfast there each morning Inside, both the living room and bedroom are generously sized. In addition to a double bed and a couch, there’s also a folding bed with a mattress, plus another smaller couch. Personally, what won me over was the old wooden parquet flooring and the wooden ceiling. The floor creaked charmingly in places, reminding us—children of the '80s—own childhood. A real highlight was the traditional fireplace-stove in the salon, fully functional and ready to be lit. The hosts even provided firewood. The kitchen is compact but well-equipped: a gas stove, electric kettle, microwave, refrigerator, and all the necessary utensils. The bathroom is combined with a shower, separated by a curtain (not a cabin).

The shower head itself has a rubber hose and is not secured very well to pour directly, but it’s a minor quirk—not a dealbreaker. Now, a note for the aesthetically sensitive: the view from the window reveals a row of run-down, wooden staircases and crumbling façades. But that’s part of Tbilisi’s unique charm. We could feel that there were active children living above us, but it didn’t bother us. However, if you're a stickler for silence, you might want to look elsewhere.

The bedroom could maybe have a standing lamp in the corner and another bedside lamp due to it being so dark.
