I got charged for an accommodation at which I never stayed because the host had no room for me. Instead of recognizing that he double booked the apartment, he ignored my confirmation number, took my money, left me to find another place to stay at 22:00, and I still have not received a refund.

Avoid this rental completely! I showed up to the property and the host told me I did not have a reservation, despite providing him with my confirmation number. He also told me that he does not manage this property and that it is impossible that his phone number could be attached to the booking. Where else could I have gotten his phone number if not after making a reservation and receiving confirmation of my reservation? I am in the process of disputing the reservation with booking.com. The host is lying inconsistently to booking.com, telling them first that I did not show up for my reservation and second that I stayed there and there were no problems. Booking.com has the policy of issuing refunds only after an agreement can be made between both parties. Unfortunately, booking.com accepts his word as gospel and as a result I have been forced to dispute this transaction with my credit card company. Save yourself a huge hassle and steer clear of this apartment rental.
