Studio along the Danube

Nice view of the river. Very close to A38 ship, the reason for visiting Budapest. Tram and bus stops nearby.

The location is better than expected, super close to public transport (especially trams 4 and 6 who are functioning 24hrs) and the river Danube. It seemed to be a safe area, it had many shops and restaurants nearby. The building was both weird and beautiful at the same time, but we really appreciated that it had an elevator and the apartment had 2 entrance doors, a normal one and a “prison” one, which gave us more security. The apartment was big and fully equipped: microwave, iron, washing machine, fridge, wifi, hairdryer, air conditioning, TV, oven, stove, all sorts of glasses, plates & cutlery etc.. It also had dish soap, shampoo, hair conditioner, hand soap, hand sanitizer, shower gel and hand cream, which is extraordinary! The bed and pillows were quite comfortable. It was quite clean, among the cleanest budget apartments/ rooms we have stayed in before. The owner was wonderful, super communicative and kind. He received us with some chocolate sweets on each pillow :)

It’s not something that bothered us that much, we got used to it, but it may be inconvenient to other people and maybe it would be better to be taken into consideration: - the noise from outside is real. Being a busy street, we heard a lot of noise. We weren’t in the apartment during daytime, but at night, the trams and people cleaning the streets could be heard clearly. - the central heating is placed in the bathroom and it makes a lot of weird noises when water is used - the bed, although comfortable, is not that stable and makes cracking noises when moving (or maybe it was because of our over-weight) - the cutlery and kitchen cupboards smell like old. The sponge for washing dishes wasn’t new - the wifi connection wasn’t stable - there were some pubic hairs on the wc, under the toilet seat. We cleaned them and disinfected the toilet and that was it. Also the wc cleaning brush was quite gross and smelly - one of the bathing towels and one of the hand towels had a bad odour. Initially, they smelled clean, but when getting wet, they smelled super bad and also left a bad odour on the skin. We requested Imre another towels and he was super kind to give them to us, he apologised many times for the “incident”, but unfortunately, they continued to smell like that. I guess it’s because the towels are already old or because of the fact that they are stored in an old, wood drawer inside the apartment, closed. I would suggest Imre to change the towels and get rid of the unnecessary decorations and cutlery, and this way it would be also easier to clean everything. Otherwise he already does a great job!

It was in a brilliant location to take the scenic tram #2 along the danube into the centre. Imre was incredibly welcoming and kind to meet us even though we were so late arriving. A really wonderful property.

The location is great, the bathroom was very clean. The owner allowed us to leave our baggages in the flat longer on the check-out day.

It is very noisy during the night, the bed and the pillows are uncomfortable
