I don’t know how to start this… it’s my first time writing a bad review. When we booked the apartment we saw the pictures, we didn’t expected to be more than it was, modest furniture and modest apartment. The only humble expectation we had was to be clean. Little did we know we would find a place full of spiders, spiderwebs, dust, dirtiness and mold in bathrooms (see the photos attached). My husband has asthma and couldn’t sleep well in dust and spider webs all over the place. We spend 2 nights in a row vacuuming the spiderwebs and cleaning the dust from the bedroom we slept in. If you don’t have time in your vacation (aprox 1 full day) to deep clean the apartment, I don’t recommend this booking. Unfortunately we were in Budapest in a fully booked weekend (formula 1) and couldn’t find anything else available. In the first day we reached out to the host, but he told us that the apartment was cleaned by a commissioned company and was checked by him before handover (I think the pictures are self explanatory regarding this statement). In other words we were left in a big mess (literally).

Communication with Christian (the host) was easy and friendly. The location was perfect. Easy to travel to other parts of Budapest, close to public transport, excellent connection. Big and clean apartment. Very good wifi. We really enjoyed it and we will definitely go there soon again

It was a well cleaned apartment near the city centre, just a few hundred meters away from the bus & tram stops

The only thing is that they gave only one key for 4 people

Air dryer was for replacement, sheets were old, last day was no hot water for third person.

Mouldy bathrom, badly equiped kitchen with falling cabinet doors and ants, dirty pillows

A convenient and practical apartment in a pleasant building in a quiet and beautiful neighbourhood, easy to travel from the apartment to other parts of Buda or to Pest, a kind owner, very good kitchen, there is always warm water for showers, just lovely.

I would just add another real toilet, maybe instead of the bidet? Two toilets are needed when 5-6 people stay over...

Air con worked well, quietness of the apartment away from traffic or other noise, good sized apartment near to the main transport hub. The owner was easy to contact and always courteous.

The boiler did not work so there was no hot water to shower, wash or wash up. The owner knew this but still took all of our cash payment, only to give some back after we involved Booking.com and asked him directly. He said that an engineer could not attend until after our stay of four nights. The apartment was tired looking with very cheap uncomfortable beds/bedding, kitchen utensils, pans etc. We were given a time slot to be able to shower in the adjoining apartment, also owned by the same person, but this did not fit in with our plans. My older girls were particularly (!) unhappy since the weather was very hot and we were sightseeing most of the time. The adjoining apartment was nicely refurbished, so we wonder if the high rating on Booking.com is for that one, not the one we stayed in? Most disappointing stay, which the aggro over the apartment nearly spoilt our trip. Since the World Athletics event was going on in Budapest at the time, a change of accommodation was not really an option, particularly as we had paid in advance and with cash on arrival. The owner was very apologetic and never rude, but we feel that Christian should have been more honest about the hot water issue at the outset, and should not have taken full cash payment on the first day.
