The accommodation conditions are extremely poor and the apartment is very cold, though they may seem acceptable for the apparently low price. However, in the end, the stay will not be cheap at all. Why? The host requests a €200 deposit from foreign tenants, which is either not returned at all or only partially refunded under various pretexts. In our case, he accommodated us without a proper check-in and claimed he would be fined by the authorities because we were staying there “illegally.” He arbitrarily decided to keep €100 from the deposit before even knowing the actual amount of any supposed fine from the Budapest Police. At the time of our departure, we called the Budapest Police in his presence. They told us they were not aware of such a situation, had never encountered it before, and did not believe the owner would be fined. Despite this, the owner still withheld €100 from our deposit because he could not find any other justification, such as damage to the property. Based on discussions with others, he repeats this fraudulent practice with every new tenant.

Host was very friendly when we got there and accommodating, very clean inside and had all the facilities we needed, good value for money

Was cold but was to be expected in winter so not a massive issue.

It was disgusting, the owner was inappropriate and when we asked to leave after 10 minutes of giving a £200 deposit, he FORCED us to cancel with no fees!!! We have it all on video for evidence. The apartment itself is grubby and unclean and from the outside looks like a bando, WORST bando! DO NOT stay here!!!!

I strongly recommend that no one book this accommodation. This property appears to be a false or fraudulent listing on Booking.com. The information provided is misleading and does not match reality. It is important to report this property to Booking.com so that other travelers are not deceived or scammed.

The staff are so lovely and kind

The bed sheets were dirty, there were only a few cups that needed to be cleaned as they were also dirty. There was no washing machine, which in my opionion is needed in an apartmant. They put us on that ground floor basmemt.

Property has an ideal location in a nice street with public transport nearby. It was quiet too, only the traffic noise from the buses. A shopping centre, laundrette and food shops can be reached within 15 minutes of walk. Buses to the town centre (Deak ter) make an easy and cheap connection to the airport. The bed was firm but comfortable, the sofa is also good with storage. The fridge worked well and there were no issues with hot water. The TV is okay, roughly the size of a computer monitor but considering the viewing distance, it's the right choice. There is a comfortable dining table. Plenty of storage for two people and free Wi-Fi.

Key handover is badly arranged, times can change in short notice. I had to wait over two hours in the street when I arrived but locals told me that they saw three times as much before and people waiting there is a familiar sight to them. There is NO HEATING in the property and being a basement flat, it's damp, your towels won't dry properly. There is a portable electric radiator on request but the moment I asked for it, I was told that I will have to pay the entire electric bill on top of the agreed price. I was born in Hungary and lived there for decades but this was the first property I've ever heard of which is available all year around with no heating. The shower floor is cracked so keep to the right. There is an electric oven but you won't be able to plug it in without investing in an extension cable first. Kitchen is okay but dishes, cutlery, etc are in very short supply. There is no point in trying to wash and dry your stuff there due to mould issues.

Location was away from the city.. difficult for traveller..room ( its a cellar eith poor ventilation)smelled dusty and unclean.. owner not so compliant.
