Wonderful Apartment Budapest

Good location

The apartment needs renovation. The bathroom drain smelled.

Location is great, bus station is in front of the building, Metro is across the street and there is a grocery store a door away that is open 24/7. Host was very kind and provided detailed explanation for everything. Apartment has all supplies that anyone would need for their stay, bed sheets smelled great and toilet was clean. Excellent value for money.

No aircon in peak summer and it’s

The flat is in a really convenient location for using public transport around Budapest, and the mattresses were super comfy :) The clean apartment was well stocked, including towels and toiletries. The out of hours entrance process was straightforward, too, which we appreciated.

There were construction workers at the building doing renovations at 5am, which we understand is needed to maintain the building, but we weren't given a heads up about the ongoing renovations. Besides the allocated apartment, we couldn't see much of the overall building because of tarp sheets. There were two lifts for the whole building, and one of them was out of order.

It was clean and have enough spacious , and it feels as it was renewed.

There wasn’t air conditioner and we couldn’t sleep at all because of the hot alert

The apartment was very nice and great value for money. The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were nice.

The pillows were bad. Also a colander was missing from the kitchen. The apartment was a good 30 min from the old buildings, but the public transport was good. The apartment did not have air conditioning which would have been nice in 37 degree C weather. Lastly, there are renovations happening in the building which woke us up at 8am when we tried to sleep in.

If the booking is real, location and price is great.

This is a scam, or maybe it isn't but the supposed "owner" gave us wrong code for key. We ended up on the street for the night. There is no reception, and the owner didn't respond to the messages for help, so you rely on the message he sent you that supposedly tell you how to get in (code for key, which ends up being wrong?). I asked him, when I booked, if it's okay to come around midnight for which he said is totally fine. When we arrived at the "hotel" the guard let us in, but that guard is for the actual hotel located at the same property. In that property one room is supposed to be "Wonderful Apartment", but when you ask actual hotel about it, they have no idea and can't help you at all. Nobody has any contact with the "owner" so if you get into trouble, you can't really do much. This is so awful experience, first time came to the Budapest and ended up on the streets. I doubt that this is actual booking, or we were just unlucky for owner to mess up our code for key... If it's the case, I understand mistakes happen, but there should be backup plan for someone to help you get in (receptionist or anything), and owner should respond to my messages, apologize and refund because it's unacceptable and unfair to us. We paid a month ago... PS. I have video proof of not being able to get in with the supposed code. Also, some grandma that lives next door, tried to help us to get in but no success, at the end she gave us blanket to not get cold overnight. Big hearts to her.
