"NO HEAT, NO DECENCY"

1.0

The apartment is spacious and it has what it needed for a stay.. The worktop in the kitchen area was dirty, there was no washing-up liquid, an empty bottle of liquid soap in the bathroom. The place was somehow clean, but the glasses, cutlery etc were all dirty and full of food. There were two cloths on the kitchen sink that were dirty. The host decided to remotely operate the heat so that he did not pay ... I wonder if he will find ways to remotely stop the electricity and water supply. I believe no customer would keep the heat on if he did not need it. He could write a note and leave it in the apartment, asking customers to be considerate with the heating. No one will just put the heat on 30 degrees and open the windows just to make him pay more. If someone needs heat, then they need heat. And it was pretty cold outside. There is no air conditioning (for summer). The water was ok, you could have a shower. The bathroom area (one narrow bath-tub and a walk-in shower is ok. The toilet is in a separate room, if you are a little bit bigger, the space is not very comfortable. For me it was ok. A horrible ashtray on the balcony. Too bad for a decent, ok apartment, if the host tries so much to save money by turning off the heat, not providing some dish soap, hand soap, a bottle of water etc.

This is actually my worse experience ever in an apartment and I have stayed in many! As I arrived the apartment around 7.30pm it was cold inside. The radiators were cold so I checked the apartment and discovered a central heating unit. I tried to make it work, nothing. I discovered a temperature station, but it was dead. I texted the host and asked about room temperature. I was told that he can turn on/off the heat remotely and that it was set on 21.5. There were less degrees in the apartment. It is an empty apartment, i.e. uninhabited, so it was cold. I do not know exactly where the thermometer is placed (the one that starts/stops the heat), but I had cold hands and a cold nose, and I was with my coat on. After some texting he started the heat and agreed to keep it at 23. It got warmer. Then it stopped again. And it got colder again. I repeatedly asked him to keep the heat on over the night, as there were 6 degrees outside or even less. Breathing in cold air can be damaging. Some can have medical conditions. I explained that I was leaving early in the morning and that I really wanted the heat on. After exchanging more messages he said he put the heat on, It was around 10 pm. I went to bed. I woke up at 2 am because of the coldness of the room. The radiators were off, and I had a headache. I texted him on the booking app. Nothing, of course. I texted him again after one hour. Nothing. and so it went until the morning. When I was about to leave at around 8 am, the heat started. Great! I had a headache, a sore throat, exactly what I needed to drive 12 hours, after having driven another 8 the previous day. I contacted booking and they tried to contact the host both by phone and email and he did not answer. This is preposterous. Ok, gas prices are high, but really, paying 60 euros to stay 12 hours in cold is not exactly ok. And the fact that you cannot control the heat by yourself is not ok. You start wondering if there are any hidden cameras, etc.

Clean, comfortable and spacious. Close to the station. Very good kitchen appliances. Good communication.

If you want to cook there was only one usable saucepan. The others were all rusty.
