The location of this apartment was excellent, the bed was very comfortable, and the accommodation was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Unfortunately, the overall experience was significantly affected by a very strong damp smell throughout the property and how you can hear everything from the upstairs apartment.

From the moment we walked in, the damp smell was noticeable, but after a long day of travelling and being at the beach, we initially put it down to the property not being used in awhile. However, after returning from dinner and spending more time in the apartment, it became clear that the issue was much more severe. The damp smell was so overpowering that we had difficulty breathing comfortably at times. We ended up buying air fresheners ourselves (see picture below) and leaving the windows open during the day and overnight to try to improve the air quality. We also discovered a dehumidifier stored in a cupboard (see picture below) and multiple car air fresheners hanging from the light fittings ( assuming these were from previous guests who were trying to mask the damp smell), this suggested that this may be an ongoing issue rather than a temporary one. There was also visible black mould in the bathroom. We were provided with two bath towels and two hand towels for a three-night stay, which would normally have been sufficient, but because the apartment was so damp, the towels never properly dried between uses. As a result, we ended up using our own towels. You can hear EVERYTHING from upstairs in the other apartment; people walking around, the flushing of the toilet, amongst other things, you could nearly join in in conversation with the people upstairs. I chose not to raise these concerns during the stay because we arrived late in the afternoon after a day of travelling and simply wanted to get settled and enjoy our break. Additionally After reading previous reviews mentioning similar concerns and seeing the responses from the owner, I did not feel that raising the issue at the time would have led to a satisfactory resolution. The location, comfortable bed and facilities were all positives, but the dampness, mould and air quality issues had a significant impact on our stay and would prevent me from booking this property again.

Good size room, excellent walkability, very clean. Easy instructions to get in and flexible check-in. Has a little kitchen to keep a few things in the fridge or make a small something if needed.

I'm not too tall, so less of a problem for me. But the bed could be considered short for anyone taller than 5'8".
