The Old Rectory Donard

We were greeted at the property by Martin, our most welcoming host - we didn't get to meet Harriet - and he showed us around the Hermitage, our one-bedroom octagonal cottage for two nights. We were also met by two of their three cats who were VERY friendly. The cottage itself has both central heating and a log-burner, for which a large basket of wood was provided. The cottage is wonderfully quirky with incredibly thick stone walls, windows from almost every angle and its own little veranda, with a table and chairs. As well as being well-located, with much to see - with ancient stone circles, etc. within easy walking and driving distance - the Old Rectory complex is, itself, set in a beautiful garden which Martin seemed to spend most of his time tending, under the supervision of Timmy, their chocolate brown Labrador (who seems to think he's still a puppy).

We could have done with a few more items in the kitchen, such as: salt and pepper shakers, a pair of scissors, a dishcloth, some washing up liquid (however a small amount, for the first night!), cleaning materials incl. surface spray, and possibly some bleach. And m-m-maybe s-s-some form of heating in the bathroom!

Le site est vraiment chouette, il y a plusieurs possibilités de logement mais chaque logement à son indépendance et sa terrasse individuelle. Le logement est très bien équipé et très bien entretenu. Facile d'accès, conseils pour visite ...

Nous avions loué un logement avec une chambre pour quatre personnes, le canapé faisait lit c'était possible. La literie est à revoir complètement, le canapé n'est pas du tout adapté pour y dormir, le matelas à largement fait son temps. Je ne conseille pas du tout ce type de logement pour 4 personnes.

L'accueil était impeccable, le lieu est très agréable surtout en famille, nos enfants ont adoré. C'est proche de tout ce qu'il y a à faire à Wicklow. Hôtes très attentionnés.

The chalet was so comfortable and cosy. It had everything you could need. It also had privacy. Also Martin and Harriet were very helpful and friendly. It is also a great location for exploring Wicklow and very dog friendly. My dog did not want to leave!

There is nothing I did not like. It is a fabulous place to stay, especially if you have a dog. Cannot wait to stay again

Beautiful location. Quite , comfortable and clean place.

I love everything. Definitely I would like to stay there again.
