"Spacious apartment, well located to the centre of Cork city"

6.0

Location was convenient to the centre of Cork city. Heating and hot water supply were good. The bed was comfortable and the apartment was clean (except for the oven). The host provided bread, milk and fruit for us, which was very kind. Although advertised as 'world class', it is in the realm of a 3 star apartment. The host was responsive when we had questions about parking.

The kitchen could do with a really good clean. It was also missing some cooking implements like a big sharp knife for vegetables, and a bread knife. Also, a wooden spoon would be a useful addition. The oven and oven slides and trays were very greasy and grubby, and the oven door did not shut properly (I have pointed out the oven problems to the host already, so hopefully they are now fixed) While a washing machine and dryer worked well, a clothes horse would also be useful for final drying of clothes, as you could place it near a heater. The bathroom does not have enough towel rails. The Booking.com post for this apartment stated (when I booked) that parking was included in the price- but it wasn't. You definitely need parking in Cork! The cost was 10 euros/day. Not exorbitant, but the posting is now clearer. The parking space is very tight- a big car would be really difficult. The security gate on the parking lot wasn't working when we stayed. The tiny 'balcony' is beside the car park, and opens from the bedroom. The garden does provide some privacy from the street, which is very busy with car traffic. There is no on-site coffee shop. Wine or champagne was not provided.

"Disappointing"

7.0

Nicely decorated/furnished in a reasonably good location

Overwhelming musty, damp smell throughout. We had to leave after 1 night despite having paid for 2 nights. Washer dryer didn’t work very well Car park gate doesn’t work so it is not securely gated as advertised. Whilst the property may come up on a filter search as free parking, after booking the owner advises a 10euro per 24 hour parking charge.
