Laura Compound- Authentic 1 BR charming & specious

There was a poor review of this property posted after I had booked, so I didn’t notice it until after I had arrived. Sadly, It proved to be all too accurate. It’s marketed as high end, cosy and luxurious, by the beach. Well, it's five minutes from the nearest beach, and I can cope with that. Though half the area is currently fenced off for building work. That’s not the owner of apartment’s fault. But the dust, stains, peeling plaster and dirt inside are. The building itself is nice -and so could the apartment be, if it was looked after. There’s also a mosque, just over the road, with accompanying muezzin through the day and night. Description says it’s during the day only. Advertised as charming and specious- well I think it should say spacious but specious certainly applies to the description. Cosy charming, high end. Recently renovated. The pictures are clearly ancient

In brief: Property dirty with stained linen and towels, dirty linen stored in cupboards, items such as ironing board and tea towels missing, Really loud noise from apartment next door being renovated. Communication difficult from the off. Owner is pleasant enough but doesn’t always respond and failed to do anything about the problems. He offered to send cleaner round, but only if I stayed in during the day to tell him what needed doing. I was on holiday! Otherwise he just offered cleaning fee refund and 10% off the booking cost. I had to nag him for several days to get that expedited. In detail: Dusty, Mould on bathroom tiles, Cracked mirror in bathroom, No plugs in sinks. Sticky taps and door handles, Filthy fridge, Freezer undefrosted, No bedroom curtains (other than nets)- shutters pinned back and unreachable from inside, Several bags of dirty linen stuffed in the wardrobe, Crumbling plaster on grubby walls, Small flies around- lots in bath Cooking oil but nothing else to cook with. Salt in the tea caddy. Stained linen, pillows, mattress, towels , No kitchen towels or oven gloves or kitchen roll No ironing board Desk with lamp but nowhere to plug the lamp in Big TV that is no use as there are all streaming channels that need an Israeli account. And all the instructions/log ins are in Hebrew anyway Really loud drilling noises coming from next door apartment Poor communication generally right from the beginning having to request check in information
