Gabriel Apartments - Superior Studios City Center

The room was very small but had everything I needed to be comfortable for my stay.

I did not realize the bathroom was upstairs so at times it was difficult to climb them with less than new knees.

True to its description and as advertised. Location at this price can’t be matched. David was quick to answer/respond when contacted. Highly recommended.

The host is a very good communicator and very kimd

The neighborhood is not welcoming at all, it is very dirty, the door of the apartment opens directly onto the street, you can hear all the noise from the street and the key only turns once, so security is very poor. The host asked me to dress correctly on the street and even not to look at my cell phone on the street, which seems totally unacceptable to me. If you are traveling alone it is not a safe neighbourhood, not at all welcoming and the apartment was dirty, in the photos the apartment appears much cleaner than it was in reality.

The owners of the room instruct you to respect the rules of the ultra-Orthodox neighborhood where it is located, but on the other hand they require you to leave at a time when it is forbidden to travel by car or move luggage there on Shabbat and holidays according to the rules of the place, and then demand an additional payment for leaving at the end of the holiday or Shabbat (when it is clear to him that you have no other option of voiding the holiday/Shabbat). They could simply stated in advance that on this day the departure must be late after the holiday, and updated the price including a late departure fee already at the closing stage on the website, and not retrospectively after the reservation when there is no option to cancel.

If you want to see the everyday life in Mea Shearim district then the location is perfect. Tiny studio, but well equipped.

People often confuse the neighbor's optician's office with your entrance, so they simply try to enter or just knock on your door, which was a bit annoying at times. Although the street is not a main one, sometimes it is surprisingly noisy.

Location is great. It is in the Jewish orthodox neighbourhood which is an amazing experience. Don't forget to respect their customs, like you would want them to respect yours. It's also not far from Jerusalem's night life and even the old city is not that far away.

The room is small. A new water boiler is needed. The shower is a bit low and the water wasn't not hot for very long.
