Pearl by Olys Apartment

That little apartment was furnished with every need of the traveller in mind -- be it cooking an occasional meal, washing clothes and drying them, working on creative stuff, getting to interesting places. The people who looked after it were generous with suggestions, and very friendly.

It is tiny, and you could not bring more than two adults in there -- but that was not my problem. It has no balcony and once you draw the curtains you are on display to the adjoining office -- which was again not a problem for me.

Location is great. Refrigerator, washing machine, tv, induction, microwave, electric kettle available. Pearl is 1 room flat in an apartment which has been redone but only partially. Lift available. AC, geyser works fine. Wardrobe, iron box available. Feels like everything has been packed into the room with little comfort.

The bed creaks everytime you move on it, very irritating. The bed is in the corner, so 2 people sitting on the bed is very hard and involves a lot of creaking. There are 2 straight back dining chairs provided, so there isn't much choice to relax in the room. The window looks into the houses of the adjacent building, so keeping the curtains closed at all times is the only option, giving the room a very gloomy vibe. The room has been redone but not fully. The wc, wash basin & shower enclosure, taps in the bathroom are new but the soap dish & shower drain are rusted. The bathroom window is covered by dirty curtains. No toiletries, except handwash. The building security guard was a big bother. He kept banging on our cab window asking for money.

The room is comfortable and has a washing machine to be able to do laundry and a small kitchen to be able to cook if you don't feel like going out. The security guard is very friendly and is a joy to see. Good location

The only fault is they don't accept international credit cards

Excellent facility in the unit named Pearl.

A plug point near the bathroom sink and one near the bed would help. The tap near the hot plate was dripping slowly. A light switch near the bed for bedside reading will be helpful.

Home away from home

Everything was perfect!

Very comfortable, the staff, esp Sunil, were always there cleaning everything, changing the sheets when needed. We stayed 1 week and it had everything we would need: stove, pans, a washing machine, nice fridge. The location was unbeatable. We would definitely come back.

Nothing much. Just FYI, there’s a 5000 INR cash deposit they require. I would suggest that they inform the guests beforehand because we were only told when we there already. The deposit is understandable but even if we were tired, we had to go out again to get the cash.
