LA CASA THE HOMESTAY

The house owner is super nice and friendly. Stay at his place spacious and comfortable than hotel. Highly recommend

Ashok was the most welcoming and helpful host, cooking a range of breakfasts for me. I really appreciated his flexibility with my late departure, allowing into my room to change and refresh before the sleeper train.

A small amount of street dog noise and some traffic noise as the homestay is on a corner.

Asok kept in contact from the point that I made the booking to when I arrived at La Casa and where he and his family met me at the door with a welcome and a smile. This continued throughout my three night stay and during which I felt welcomed and comfortable, although not where my privacy was undermined. Asok is a good judge of what people want. Asok made me a lovely breakfast each morning, and I had free access to the kitchen. My accommodation had been well prepared for my arrival. It was clean, tidy, and spacious, and everything, including the a/c, worked really well. The internet failed for a short while, but Asok did everything he could to resolve this with the telecommunications company, and this was dealt with fairly quickly. The internet works well. I often shy away from homestay as I am an introvert, and I dislike staying in someone's home. That being said, staying at La Casa was such a comfortable experience and meeting and getting to know Asok and his family a joy. When I return to the south of India, I would intend to stay here again.

Even if I was hyper-critical, I could not find any fault with the accommodation, it's location nor the hosts.

Our last two days in India we stayed at this accommodation, we are so grateful that it was like this, they are a lovely family and they really made us feel at home. Everything was very clean, the owner prepared us a delicious breakfast, they have a kitchen so you can cook whatever you need. They also let us use the washing machine. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

The hospitality of the host family made us feel at home. My granddaughter who was one and a half years old was with us. The host took pain to buy us the needed milk for the baby. The location is only around 5 to 7 kms from some main attractions like zoo, museum, mall of travancore, Lulu mall, sangumugam beach, airport, etc. There was ample parking facility within the premises for upto three cars. The host was very responsive over WhatsApp.

The property was clean, and the room had air conditioning, as well as a fan and private bathroom. There was a kitchen next to the bedroom which was for guests, and tea and coffee and filtered water was available. Mr Asok was very helpful and chatty. He answered all my questions prior to arrival and whilst I was there he arranged to a private taxi to take me to all the sites I wanted to see. The taxi driver was very friendly and spoke good english and the price was very reasonable. Mr Asok printed my train ticket and also organised my auto to the train station when I left. Mr Asok’s wife Sheila was also very friendly. And they have a lovely dog called coffee! Mr Askok made me a traditional Keralan breakfast ever day (even though this wasn’t included in the initial booking). I would recommend this homestay for solo travellers and couples who want to immerse themselves in a family atmosphere.

The property is a little hard to find at first but Mr Asok sent the exact location and came outside when he heard the taxi.
