The apartment was a mess in my opinion, first time I tried to use the Jacuzzi, I couldn't stop it, had to call the owner to stop the noise and water ( didn't work after it ).The door from bathroom, didn't work normally and it had rust. Above the bed, which is very low are windows, that open and close from a button, and I had to wake up at 2 am because drops were falling from the attic(perhaps because of the rain, but the window was closed).I had a lot of stres with this apartment. I could feel the humidity in the apartment, and there were some kind of flies

Breakfast was tasty, and we appreciate that. However, when we kindly asked for an extra pastry, we were met with an unfriendly look and poor service from the woman serving. It made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. The only real positive was the convenient location.

Unfortunately, our stay at La Chicca di Carola was quite disappointing. The cleanliness of the room was far below expectations – it seemed like nothing had been properly cleaned for a long time. The bed was very uncomfortable and felt completely worn out, making it hard to get a good night's sleep. We were looking forward to the experience and, as advertised, were expecting a bottle of champagne – sadly, there was none. The jacuzzi was another major letdown: it had a terrible smell, and once we turned the bubbles on, unpleasant dirt and debris started coming out. It was not usable at all.

It did take a little while to work out the hosts were actually the people working at the cafe down the other side of road and that we had to collect our keys from them. However once we did, the hosts, although not able to speak English, did a great job of accommodating us, booking taxis when needed, and fixing any general maintenance issues we had and the property. The property is also in a good location within walking distance to the shops old town and the beach area.

The apartment looked relatively nice at first glance although there were a number of issues with it on closer inspection. Firstly ventilation is an issue with the jacuzzi being in the apartment there is not enough ventilation or air for the steam from the water to escape and this is probably why the walls are mouldy. We found they had wallpapered over the mouldly wallpaper that was originally there to try and hide it but there were numerous places where the outer layer of wallpaper had lifted revealing the mouldy wall. There are no windows to look out of and no natural light coming in to the appartment so the only way to see whether it’s light/dark/raining/sunny outside is to leave the apartment and walk outside. There is a smell coming from the room probably due to the mould which we initially didn’t notice probably due to the amount of air fresheners plugged in and incense burning when we arrived but once that wears off you can start to smell it and it is not pleasant. The shower cubical is tiny and a struggle to move around in without bumping your head or side. The handheld shower didn’t work at all either when we were there. Also the bed is practically on the floor making it not the most comfortable for sleeping on and there are various stains across the floor boards. To top it off my partner ended up getting ill from our short stay here, so until they fix the mould issue I would not recommend staying which I feel bad about saying because the hosts were good but the actual property needs sorting out.
