Castello Medici del Vascello

Location was great. Facilities were fairly new. Basic equipment for cooking were available. Hosts were quick to respond to recommendations for restaurants and cellars. The view for the terraces are beautiful

it wasnt clear to me that the two bedrooms were separated so it was a little inconvenient for my parents to go to and fro to the bathroom or to use the kitchen. We were very lucky with the weather but if it was raining or if it was too cold, it would been a pain. It says on the website that in the deluxe apartment, there is the option of the elevator - I've not managed to see photos of this apartment so i'm not sure if its available for booking? Nonetheless, they should make a note that there is no lift for the penthouse apartments for families with young children or elderly. We helped them with their luggage my parents with their luggage. My parents are healthy but at 70years old, to walk up and down the stairs was not ideal. Music from nearby bars were loud but we expected it. A price to pay, to lstay right in the centre.

Absolutely brilliant location, stunning building and perfect layout. The two terraces, high above the town, are amazing. Who doesn't want to stay in a castle?! We stumbled across Asti's street food and wine festival during our stay and it was excellent. Plan your luggage carefully - there isn't a lift up the tower. Really warm welcome from Laura, the owner's representative, who was hugely helpful.

There is some music noise from the two bars beneath the tower on the ground floor on weekend nights. To be honest, we found it funny - and had a dance on the terrace! Just pack your earplugs - and perhaps indulge in some excellent local wine in the evening. (Ps - It finished at 1am on the Saturday of our stay in May.)
