Everything.A fantastic two bed apartment with lift really centrally situated in Como.Was really clean & had great aircon too.Restaurants & coffee shops etc on the same street .Highly recommend

The apartment was so central and convenient for getting to bars, cafes, restaurants, and the lake. It was clean and tidy, with most of the facilities you would want and expect. It was very useful to have a washing machine and access to a shared dryer. My son loved the bunk beds in his room, which was nice and quiet at the back of the flat. The decor was simple but elegant. There was a coffee machine with lots of coffee and sugar supplied, which we used daily. The owner was easy to get hold of, friendly, and helpful.

It was noisier than expected, but this is understandable as it is right in the centre, amongst all the bars and restaurants. The sofa bed in the living room/kitchenette had a bit of a dip in the middle, but it was a good size. It would have been nice to have a little table next to the sofa. The sink in the bathroom drained very slowly and the shower could have done with a shelf, or hanging storage as we had to put the shampoo etc on the floor, but this was only a small thing. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

First let’s get the negatives out of the way. By far the most efficient method for providing access and facilitating payment for apartments that do not have on site reception is the code secure key box by the door and bank transfer payment a couple of days prior to occupancy. From the owner perspective, they have payment and hence can expect the guest to turn up, and from the guest perspective, access to the apartment is readily available, irrespective of arrival time. The owner of Como via Carcano apartment 1A uses neither method but relies on personal contact at a specified arrival time. Meeting times are arranged via the Internet, which is often problematic, as guests are not guaranteed to have Wifi or Whatsapp access in Como. Whilst personal explanation of apartment operations and facilities are fine, written explanations are equally as good and a more permanent source of information. That’s enough negativity for one day! The apartment is on the 3rd floor with access via a small lift. There is a small external patio, shared with the adjacent apartment, with clear views of the funicular and mountain top. The apartment is relatively modern and spacious with a large integral kitchen, dining and lounge room. Large bedroom, reasonably sized bathroom/laundry, with a small adjoining room between the bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom has a nice, colourful feature stone wall, a soft but comfortable mattress, with plenty of bedside shelves, but a paucity of power and USB ports. The only criticism of the bathroom would be the lack of bench space around the vanity unit. The water was hot, the towels large and the washing machine functioned well. No drying facilities are provided but a free dryer is available on a lower floor for use of the building occupants. The kitchen and dining area cater for 4 occupants (the lounge doubles as a sofa bed). The kitchen includes a large fridge, new dishwasher, oven/microwave and a capsule coffee machine.

The access arrangements. Perhaps the lack of surface space in the bathroom and kitchen but we were only there for 4 days so let’s not split hairs. A minor inconvenience in the scheme of things!

Excellent location and apartment! 2 mins walk to Lake, train also nearby and surrounded by lovely bars and restaurants (just of Volta Piazza). Apartment we had was light, spacious and clean. Great contact from owner who was really responsive to any issues. Would highly recommend.

as usual in the center it can be a bit noisy at night or in the morning. As always-quid pro quo ;-)

The apartment was in a fabulous location and the view from the terrace was outstanding! It was really spacious and comfortable and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
