Foreen Lodge, Achill Island

Nice location, quite and nice view

It had everything we needed, beautiful location, clean and comfortable.

Nothing at all. Was perfect for our needs.

It was very clean and nice, well-maintained. Has a beautiful view from the balcony.

OK but overpriced for what you got. Disappointing.

The grounds of the house were under redevelopment a d it was a mess. Not safe for small children at all. A construction site with a big dirty shed full of old rubbish. The owner apologised but didn't offer anything else. The house itself was the upstairs of a bungalow. The kitchen was very cramped and the sitting room was small with a dining table in the corner. Not great.

Great views from the lodge, appreciated guest accounts for disney+, as well as ensuite bathrooms. Very convenient for privacy!

Each bedroom was lovely and each one was en-suite. It was also very clean. The host, Gerry was very helpful too

The wifi reception was patchy in the living room so the TV didn’t work some of the time. Other than that everything was great

Everything. The property is on the first floor and it was spacious and spotlessly clean. We chose Foreen Lodge because it was big dog friendly and it was perfect. Lots of outside space for the dog to run around undisturbed. The apartment had everything we needed including toilet rolls and towels. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils to cook meals if required. Each bedroom is en-suite. The photos on the site don't do it justice. Beautiful views from the balcony outside. There's no light pollution so the views of the stars on a clear night are spectacular. Very quiet and secluded area. Perfect for a restful break. Nearest shop is approx 15 min drive away and nearest pub/restaurant (Valley Hostel & Restaurant - excellent place) is 5 minute drive. Gerry is a warm and friendly man who is on hand if there are any issues. We didn't have any but it was good to know he was there. Highly recommend. Pictures are views from the front and back of property and beach is Dugort which is approx 1 mile away.

Nothing in the property but if you're walking in the area bring a high viz jacket or a torch because the roads are very dark and there's lots of sheep on the roads.
