La Fontanella - Piccolo Appartamento nel Centro Storico di Nemi

We stayed here while walking the Via Francigena and absolutely loved this place. Really close to the centre of Nemi, cosy and warm when we arrived and everything we needed on hand. Would happily recommend :)

Apartment was good about price. Place around was nice.

There were fully wrong information about car parking in booking. Apartment is in old city where not inhabitants are not allowed to enter with car. Therefore all bags had to carried around half km in hill. The more bad was that unique place where to leave car was 2 km from apartment because more closer places were occupied by city gests. Owner was not very polite to explain situation and in reality explain it fully wrong way. All this information has to be in bookin.com to know what we are buying.

So much character ! Beautiful property in quiet location. The owner Maria was exceptional. She was very friendly helpful and quick to answer any queries before arrival and during our stay. The wonderful regional pastry desserts she left for us on arrival in the fridge were a delicious treat. Very comfortable bed and sofa in sitting room. A large fan already running in the bedroom. Electric mosquito device with spare tablets in the bedroom. Plenty of towels provided. Appreciated hand and shower gel available in the bathroom. Ice cubes ready in the freezer.

Meticulously designed and well equipped apartment with separate entrance. THe impression is that you live in private home left by the owner in 1930s, Few signs of modernisation but it has its attraction. Everything is at your disposal: old grandPa armchair, books, magazines and even few holiday souvenirs. Small kichenette is available, shower with running hot water and other civilisation achievements. We believe we will remember this place very well and we liked it. Great value for money !

We were discouraged by the owner from leaving our rented car in the street as the area is restricted only for inhabitants (potentially controlled by civil guards). Public parking is payable and very busy as it is limited in capacity. We missed the instructions of how to enter the place (keys left in postal box) -therefore we tried to contact the owner several times to get into appartment. It turned out the she can speak fluent English and lives in upper floor of the villa and is not willing to meet us.

Four days in Nemi and the surrounding Castelli Romani are a gem, about La Fontanella. Maria and Carlo were so helpful and welcoming, the stay was very good, the place is very typical ,Swedish at heart , every item in the house has a story to tell.Cosy and clean with all facilities working.We used a rental car for roaming around, parking is available within 5 mins from la Fontanelle, full access is available to the property for pickup/unloading. December 13th 2023, no tourists around we had all of Nemi for us! Roberto

Very warm!! Modern and old style little house, very lovely!

Everything perfect, but the water is a bit sour, not sure if we can drink it directly.
