Machrie Cottage, Oban,

Lovely cottage and perfect for a stay in Oban away from the main town - sorry we were only there for 1 night and it rained so not able to sit out and enjoy the garden terrace. Really appreciated the milk and breakfast items provided.

Very quiet , very comfortable, helpful hosts. There was specialty tea, coffee milk etc , breakfast goodies and flowers . Plenty of towels , spare pillows . Large parking area , and pleasant patio . Highly generous and would book again. Thank you

The property looks as though it had recently been renovated to a very high standard, so everything was pristine. The host had included snacks as well as a choice of items for breakfast, which was very thoughtful. The property is situated up a hill which, as long as you are fairly mobile, is a short walk into Oban. We would highly recommend this property.

Very well-equipped kitchen and excellent bathroom. Close to the Oban Ferry terminal. Thoughtfully left some essentials (e,g, milk) and some treats!

Super clean, nice and quiet. Lovely and comfortable for a relaxing get away from the city. The location on the edge of Oban made for a nice walk into the town centre.

Location was great. Short walk into Oban. The property was very clean, comfortable, quiet and warm. Fiona provided many extras, such as milk, orange juice. tea, coffee, biscuits, porridge, which was lovely. Fiona was also very prompt and helpful with communications. Lovely sitting out deck, but we didn't get a chance to use it because of the weather!

No complaints at all except that Fiona provided us with GPS directions and a little map and written directions might have helped us a little more as the road you drive up is very steep and at a sharp angle and doesn't have a name plate. Also a photo of the parking space and that side of the house would have been useful so that we knew what to look for.

Nothing not to like!

My wife and I love visiting Oban and are always looking for great place for self catering accommodation. Machrie Cottage exceeded our expectations in many ways. The location is great. It is near enough to the centre of town for a quick walk and is far enough away to be quiet. The Cottage is very well provisioned and laid out. It is very clean and comfortable for extended stays. It is one of the best self-catering places we've stayed at around the UK. I shouldn't be recommending Machrie and Fiona so much as no doubt it will be very well booked in future...so I better start planning for next year.

We can't say what we didn't like as there was nothing we didn't like during our stay. Even the weather didn't dampen our stay.

Very comfortable, clean and quiet stand alone little cottage. A nice deck and furniture for an afternoon wine in the sun. Nicely decorated. Appreciated the goodies left out for us.
