Beautiful 2BR Apartment with McCaigs Tower views

Location, proximity to everything, everything you need in the apt.

The stairs leading to it treacherous and would struggle if you had a case. Mattress in bed 2 springs coming through. Paintwork needing freshened up bit dirty. Entry time of 4pm too late especially when have to vacate hang on 10am.

The rooms views were fantastic. The rooms were large too. Well stocked, especially for towels. Centrally located with free parking nearby.

Lots of stairs up to flat. Ceilings were a bit low.

We liked the flat in general, but not really well cleaned, floor bit dirty, walls full of marks and dirty too. Not really easy to get up to the apartment either, which it's too many stairs (not good if you have lots of bags or suitcases) and narrow. For the prize you pay for a night you expect something better.

The apartment had lovely views, lots of light, and felt like a unique space. I loved the skylight in the bathroom! It was very helpful to have coffee for us. Overall top place!

The apartment itself was beautiful and convenient. Nice to have a washing machine. Quiet. Good location within Oban.

The front door to the long hallway and back 2-story stairwell didn’t feel secure. It was not locked sometimes when I came home. Note unit has door lock on its door, so it was just the front door and stairs to the unit that did not feel secure. Last day I was leaving and cleaning person was hanging out in the creepy, narrow shared back 2-story stairwell waiting apparently for me to checkout (note I left before checkout time). Was hard to pass by her on the narrow stairs carrying luggage. She’d left the key lockbox that is on the exterior of building on sidewalk open and still on the key code. Feels like public could know the code and grab/copy the key when the renter doesn’t have the key. Stairwell is steep, narrow and twisty so bringing up luggage is a challenge if you have big bags or mobility issues. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again due to safety concern as a solo female traveler with the shared front door not being properly locked issue, despite the great location, decor and comfort. Also, as the listing notes there is no parking, so that adds some challenges. Other than the distillery tour and the ferries to the neighboring islands, I didn’t really like Oban. Not in the unit, but on my birthday at the fancy seafood restaurant I was at on the water a drunk man punched his wife knocking her out unconscious onto the floor and bloodied her face and police came.
