Marina Studios

Marina studio's is located in the second bay area of the village. The city centre, supermarket and the nearest beach are a 5-10 minute walk and in the evening you can enjoy the silence on your balcony, after all the daily tourists have left. Julie is amazing and really bends over backwards in many ways to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there a second time if I would return to Symi.

Everything basically, I think the location was amazing and the home was very authentic

The air conditioning unit was very old and it was not cooling enough, which caused some problems

We had an amazing stay here,great location,very close to the beach and also 10 minutes walk to the main port.all was clean,kitchen has all you need ,nice outside seating area.We would definitely come back!

The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped with daily cleaning. The location was ideal, near the beach and a short walk to the town/harbour area. Julie was very easy to communicate with and very helpful.

Balcony hot during day

The view from the balcony (unfortunately very small) is very nice. The owner is helpful and quite kind, although rather cynical in moments ("why are you with such a big suitcases, you should have backpacks", when I tried to carry the suitcase to the room), she arranged us a taxi to the port on the way back. The place is clean and it is a little out of the "city", like 10 minutes. This is a plus so someone and a minus to the rest. For us, it was a plus.

The steps leading to the place are a nightmare and this is not stated enough in the description. It is hard to walk up even if you are young and healthy, they are so steep and without depth one can easily fall even without suitcases. Inside is also a ladder to come to upper place where you sleep, but this steps are actually better than staircases that lead to the studio. The worst is the bathroom. It should not be called that at all, this is no bathroom, I have only had this kind in 2002 at one place in all 24 years I travel over Greece. This is the second time ever to find bathroom is non existent. The owner put a shower in the corner of 1.5 x 1.5 meter WC and says this is a bathroom. There is no curtain and no wall to protect the water to go over whole of the "bathroom". Everything is wet, there is 2 cm of water when you finish showering. The feeling is really bad. In the middle there is hole where water should go and another one in the corner. It is unprotected and you may loose an earring there and also some roaches found a way up. This bathroom really ruins what is overall a tightening, but manageable experience. No wonder why there is no clear picture of it in the property photos. Many things in the bathroom and kitchen were loose and moving when they shouldn't (like the bathroom sink). The place is very hot, as it is mansard on the top and sun really heats it. We had to sleep with AC (which we don't like to do), but were still all wet in the morning. Also there is no beach in the city (but this is of course not this places fault), what they call a beach is 10 meter strip to go to the water and the ships going near you. You need to have money and yacht to have any decent beach in Symi :-(

Perfect position, fantastic view, wonderful balcony overlooking the bay, and very kind owner. Definitely recommend.

Furniture quite dusty (but bathroom and kitchen very clean), mattress not so comfortable.
