The location and how clean and inviting the room was

All excellent

Great location. Very clean and nice decor.

There was lots of extras in the kitchen for cooking etc so I was a bit surprised there was no shower gel, shampoo etc.

The apartment needed some TLC.

Room is secure, warm and comfortable. Has everything you would need for a short stay in York. Hairdryer, iron and small ironing board provided.

Rooms are getting a little worn looking now, table had loads of marks on it and the lid of the bin was broken. Found some uneaten sweets when I moved a cushion from the couch. Some small toiletries would be a help.

Very spacious, warm, clean. Decorated nicely. Nice shower. Communication before arrival was perfect.

Unfortunately we didn't find the bed comfortable. Personal preference, I guess. It's a bed that folds down from the wall so therefore not adequately sprung & small double, so lacked the comfort we are used to when we stay away. The room is quite dark without lights on and would benefit from a dressing table & lit mirror to get ready in the mornings.

The main sleeping area’s radiator didn’t work and so was very cold during the evening

Shocking standard of cleanliness. Dead insect on the wall, and faeces on a towel. When I wrote to ask for some money back/to change rooms, I received a very unhelpful and grumpy reply assuring me that a towel with poo stains on it was definitely clean, and that the insect was too small to care about. (Photos attached). Very poor standard of hygiene. Added to this, there was a letter telling me not to drink the tap water as the tank was infested with bacteria, and that they would provide drinking water - this never came, despite me asking for it. A shockingly overpriced stay in a flat with far more poo in it than I expected. Avoid.
