Stodham Studio - one bed near York Minster

We were meant to stay here but Michelle called us on the morning of our arrival to advise us that there was a problem with the boiler and that they were going to put us in their other property of Stodham House which is a fabulous 4 bedroomed house at the back of the Studio. We were so grateful that this property was available especially as we had travelled a long way. These things happen and can't be helped. The House was fabulous and would definitely suit a family. Set over 3 floors with 4 bedrooms. We chose to sleep on the top floor at the back of the house which was quieter and used the jack and jill bathroom which has the most fabulous shower. The living room, dining room, cloakroom and kitchen are on the middle floor. The living room has the most fabulous views of York Minster at the front. The decor in the house was fabulous and dressed tastefully for Christmas. The house also comes with it's own private parking space at the rear but there is the Monkgate car park at the rear too for extra cars which comes at a cost. Michelle and Jayne are fabulous hosts and kept me updated all the way along the booking but especially so on the Monday due to the boiler issue. I really appreciated this. We have already booked to go back to Stodham Studio next December - we really love the studio & house and is now our go to place to stay when visiting York. It is only a 5 minute walk to the York Minster and centre of York where there are plenty of eateries, cafes, supermarkets etc. We particularly loved Goji that we found on our last visit there - it serves vegan/vegetarian food which can be eaten on site or takeaways.

Can't think of anything as the house is just perfect. If I had to say anything maybe bath sheets as opposed to towels.

Very enjoyable stay at this one bedroom apartment,small modern kitchen with all appliances and utensils,modern shower,clean and spotless on arrival with heating already on,rooms were cosy and warm even though it was freezing outside.Free parking for one vehicle outside the property is a bonus and it is around a five minute walk into town centre,always used hotels before but was well impressed with this apartment and will be doing the same again.A credit to the owners Jayne and Michelle.

Clean and well equipped.

They need to put a yellow and black warning strip on the step down from the kitchen to the hall. Stairs a bit tricky.

Me and my partner stopped here for a short break for the Christmas market. 2 nights lovely little studio so close to the center. Very clean and such a cosy little bedroom / livingroom. Has eveything you need. 100% would stop here again.

The studio was perfect for our short break in York. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The hosts were very helpful and provided lots of information to make our stay easy. It was only a 1 minute walk into the city centre and there was a free parking space. Will definitely use again!

Comfortable room with plenty of space. Ideally situated for exploring York. Great to have a parking space.
