El Triunfo Apartments

It's a nice, very clean property in a quiet location, very close to a mall and supermarket. Spacious living room, comfortable beds. The building is also secure. The host Ursula is very helpful. You'd need a taxi/uber to get to the city centre but it's relatively cheap and around 15-20 min trip (depending on the traffic).

I wasn't sure whether to write some negative feedback as the apartment is really nice. That's more of a heads-up and it depends on one's tolerance to cold nights. If you are used to central heating, don't book it during winter in the southern hemisphere. Houses in Cusco don't generally have central heating as you get around 20 degrees C during the day even in winter. However, at night it can get to 2 degrees and the houses are not build for such temperature. Even the windows aren't typical double glazing while the bathroom ones are made for ventilation, not heat. There are some electric radiators in the walls but they are not convector style, so do little in terms of heating the air. We did have a gas heater that we moved around but, since we did not find a carbon monoxide alarm (I guess not common in Peru), we did not dare leave it on during the night. So the first night was pretty cold, even with all the blankets. However, Ursula promptly provided us with a couple of electric heaters which made a big difference the following nights. Before a shower, though, we had to keep the gas heater in the door of the bathroom for a few minutes. I guess due to the guests using the mobile gas heater which produces water vapours, there is some significant condensation on the hallway wall (no mould though).

Clean, comfortable and spacious apartment. Landlord was very accommodating with flexible check in times. Close to supermarkets & restaurants.

Some basic condiments such as salt and pepper, etc were missing. A bit of a walk to get to the historic centre.

The apartment is close to a mall, so that´s a bonus if you need any supplies or want to have a nice dinner after a long day.

All day noise from the gym next door. Rooms unusable during the day.

No hot water when we arrived but Ursula was very quick to make things right! Highly recommend.
