Carraig House

Megan fue muy amable y nos ayudó a planificar nuestro viaje aconsejandonos lugares de interés cerca de Carraig House. También solucionó muy rápidamente un fallo puntual con la wifi. Apartamento muy cómodo para alojarse en pareja. Tiene todo lo necesario para una estancia relajante. Habitación de matrimonio grande y luminosa, comedor cómodo y con buenas vistas y cocina muy bien equipada. A parte de tener muchos utensilios de cocina dispone de una pequeña despensa con aceite, sal, especies... El baño dispone de jabón, acondicionador, xampú, toallas y secador. La casa está situada en un entorno natural muy bonito y tranquilo. Aunque el coche es necesario para poder visitar puntos de interés tiene cerca excursiones y lugares que merece la pena visitar. En nuestro caso viajamos con nuestras dos hijas adolescentes y pudimos pedir a Megan una cama de matrimonio que situó en el comedor. Fue estupendo compartir el apartamento con toda la família.

Sería conveniente poner el mismo número de sillas/taburetes que huéspedes se hospeden. Al ser cuatro y sólo disponer de 2 taburetes, no pudimos comer todos sentados y nos turnamos para estar de pie mientras comíamos.

Amazing apartment and incredible clean.

The site is remote, perfect for what we were looking for, but there is not 'walk to the shop or local pub', however it is just off a main road, and there is easy parking for the accomodation. There are 3 spacious rooms (bedroom with ensuite, living room and kitchen) and all are well supplied. The bed is really comfortable, and plenty of towels were provided. Usual bathroom supplies include shampoo, conditioner and body wash, plus a variety of other items that I assume have been left by previous guests. The Living room was comfortable and cosy, with a great view when the blind and curtains were open. TV had Freeview and Netflix available, so plenty of options. The kitchen has all the necessary equipment (fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave, washing machine), there are also basic items such as salt, pepper, cooking oil, washing powder, tea bags, coffee, sugar). We cooked and ate there most evenings. The location is very central to Ireland, meaning it's about 1½ hours to Dublin park and ride and similar to Galway. There are other, closer gems though, such as Athlone with the castle and Longford (visit the Tourist Information Centre if you visit there, they are so friendly, and there is a tour of the town available on a headset that they give away. There are lots of walks and canoeing opportunities in the area. The host was always available and friendly, answering my (very few) questions promptly.

I wasn't sure what to do with recycling as there was only one bin and it wasn't mentioned, however, this was cleared up by the host really quickly. The main freezer (in the fridge) is broken, but there is no signage, however there is a second, fully functional freezer available, so it's not a big issue.

Lovely clean apartment. Megan was very accommodating and dropped us to collect our car. Great stay.
