Das Almsternderl - gemütliche Wohnung in Gosau

It is a new and well equipped apartment in Gosau, only 15 minute drive away from Hallstatt. Owner was really helpful, outgoing and punctual with information. Bathroom is good, and the view in the early morning is amazing.

Since accommodations in this region are quite expensive, this is a good price-performance option. Just one of the beds is in the living room, so not realy a two bedroom apartment.

The view from the rooms is absolutely stunning, and everything was reasonably clean.

However, despite having a kitchen, there were no basic cooking essentials like oil or salt. When staying just for a couple of nights, it’s not practical to buy these, so it would be great if the hotel could provide them. Also, the hotel is located very close to a barn, which we didn’t expect — there were noticeable sounds and smells from it.

The room was very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed. The position was great, in a calm and quite area with stunning view and close to Hallstatt, with reserved parking space in front of the building. Before check-in I received an email with door codes, making it easy to come whenever I had time (suitable also for introverts as we didn't even meet the owner :D ). There were two beds in two separate rooms and enough space for all the luggage and to move around.

* There was a sofa on the pictures but that was probably one of the beds - there are just 2 beds and that is all (not an issue, just clarification of the pics) * There are no 4 different beds as indicated in on the app but 2 beds (probably 2 matrasses each). The app probably considers that as 4 beds.

The apartment was beautiful and very nice. Good location in Gosau.

We realy didnt like the fact that day of arrival we received a message that our check in is 2,5 h later. At first it was said 2.00pm., but received a letter that 16.30. We had 2 little babies and this wasnt cool at all. Besides there was some issue with key box. At first we thought that we have given wrong code, wrote a host. Till got the answer we just sat on the floor outside apartment. Then finally we got an answer how to open the box. We before had an experience with similar boxes which opened easily after the code. This is the reason we thought about wrong code because this box didnt open so easily. Had to pull with strenght. And also we didnt understand why we had to place tourist tax seperately in cash when we moved out. Of course, we left the money but after changed check in time for 2.5h this wasnt appropriate.....

The pictures are a little bit tricky, I thought that there would be 2 beds and one sofa, however there is only one bed, and the sofa can be opened into a doublebed as well. Despite this, 4 people can fit, and everything was nice and clean. I would definitely recommend this accommodation to families of three, or two couples:)
