Little art house

The airconditioner in the bedroom nearly caught fire during our stay. We came back to find a smell of burning plastic throughout the property after going out for dinner. On investigation we found that plug/wire for the airconditioner was wrapped in masking tape and was crackling and burning hot. It was so hot we couldnt plug it out and had we not discovered it it would have caught fire (potentially when we were sleeping in the bedroom). The wiring for the airconditioner is not safe and the owner seems to think replacing the burnt adapter plug was enough. It is a highly dangerous situation and we have communicated with both booking.com (who are investigating) and the owner on the need for the wiring for the airconditioner to be completed replaced, but have not heard anything back. Highly dangerous.

Loved the central location and that it was so exceptionally clean. The host, Ida, was so lovely and helpful and it seemed genuinely important to her that we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

Ida was a wonderful, kind host. The house was full of so much charm and character. It was in a great location.

There was alot of banging early in the morning from next door.

This is a 'getaway' stay ... in a secluded location providing peace and silence against the backdrop of a medieval town crowned by forested hills that invite the walker.¨ The Little Art House is not luxury, nor does it pretend to be. The amenities - on two floors - are simple and to the point. Nothing is lacking as far as basic comforts are concerned, including - in the torrid summer conditions - effective dehumidification and air conditioning (keep every window, etc. shuddered!). The beds are comfortable, and the kitchen, though modest, sports enough appliances, etc. to enable the preparation of a good meal. (The restaurants just down the street offer a wide variety of local and more national cuisine - such as the local 'pizza', which is far from anything the Neapolitans produce) Finally, the owner and host is a delightful, empassioned - artistic - lady (with a boutique of her wares just down the road) who adds to the fun of getting to know and appreciate Gaeta. Recommended!
