Princely House Apartment

So after 4 weeks in Sri Lanka this is the nicest place we have stayed. It’s actually an apartment with kitchen, dining area, bathroom and bedroom. It has AC, fans and mosquito net on the bed (not that we saw many mosquitoes). The owner is just the nicest man you could ever meet; very friendly, very helpful and just lovely to chat to. He also let us use the washing machine which was very welcome after 3 months of hand washing clothes. It’s a short walk to the fort (about 1.2km) or about 200-300 rupees in a tuktuk. Breakfast was very tasty and plentiful. Everything was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. This was a great find, thank you very much for hosting us!

Our host Renuka was very friendly and accommodating. He prepared breakfast for us daily and asked us for our preferences each time. Renuka also very helpful and gave great advice regarding travel hints and transport arrangements.

The apartment was very roomy, perfectly clean and very comfortable to stay in. It’s a short walk from Galle Central Bus Stand up a well lit road. Bedroom is super comfy, great air con, mosquito net and we had a great night sleep. Bathroom is the nicest we’ve had in Sri Lanka. Renuka (host) was an absolute pleasure to meet and made us feel at home and is a perfect host. We had an early flight and Renuka even made breakfast for us and got up when we did, absolute legend! In terms of value for money, this is one of if not the best we’ve experienced.

Nothing to note

The apartment is spacious and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. But what really makes this place 10 out of 10 is its kind and friendly owner. I recommend this place to everyone.

We didn't expect it's an apartment with kitchen and dining area. This is cleanest bathroom we had throughout our stay. The host was so nice to prepare breakfast for us to takeaway for our early departure.

The air con was kind of loud, probably will help after doing service.

This place is such good value for money! You get a small apartment, including bedroom, kitchenette, dining space and wet room for the price, with breakfast included, so was a good deal! Our host was excellent, very attentive and gave us some great recommendations, including advising us on the places to visit in Sri Lanka we hadn’t initially intended on going, which was great :) we loved watching the monkeys in the garden, so cute! The place is a little off the beaten track to get to the old Dutch fort area and restaurants, we walked it once in the evening and it took about 25-30 mins, but chose to tuk tuk in the day because of the high temperatures.

Very good hotel! Very sweet host! He even takes English classes at the moment to be able to help his guests even better!

The host is very kind, he helped us with everything and even gave us the keys to the garage so we could park the tuk tuk. His wife is also kind and cooks very well, we always got other dishes for breakfast (we stayed 5 nights).

Unfortunately, it was not very clean, especially the kitchen and the floors. We had disinfectant, so we cleaned the bathroom ourselves. The kitchen had a strange smell, so we didn't use it at all. There were also a lot of insects in the apartment.

Wonderful location in Galle! Host couldn't do enough for us, he ensured we were looked after before, during and after our stay. He even made us a packed breakfast as we were getting an early train and would miss breakfast! Great to have so much space and access to a kitchen. Would book again in a heartbeat!
