Princely House Apartment

The high score reflects the pleasure we had in meeting and chatting with the wonderful host, professor Renuka De Silva, whose command of English language is outstanding and who is very interesting to engage in conversation. The property is large and spacious, and although a little out of the city is not too far to walk, eg, to the fort, but a bit of a hike if one were carrying a backpack. It is opposite a mosque which during Ramadan, is the site of some nighttime celebrations, but we were not disturbed as the bedroom is at the rear of the property. Breakfast, made by the host was good, consisting of omelets, aappa, and fruit. The fittings are a little dated, but the rental represents exceptional value for money, especially given the space. Air conditioning of the bedroom was very efficient, cooling the compact space very quickly. There is a kitchen available for guests with a kettle, toaster and fridge, which together with the sitting area and balcony, make the property ideal for a longer stay to explore the area.

El matrimonio es muy amable y simpático. Nos preguntaron qué queríamos de desayunar. El apartamento es grande: tiene una sala con ventilador, una mesa y sillas para comer, un sofá, una terraza donde se puede tender la ropa, cocina, un baño grande y un dormitorio con estantes para colocar las cosas. En la habitación hay aire acondicionado. En el baño, el agua de la ducha salía templada y tiene presión. La wifi iba muy bien, la mejor que hemos tenido en el país. Que tenga lavadora es un plus. Nos dejaron salir un poquito más tarde para tener tiempo de ver el centro histórico.

La cama es más bien dura pero volveríamos a alojarnos aquí, no sería un impedimento.

Alles der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit Er hat uns viel geholfen. Mit seiner Hilfe haben wir immer wenig bezahlt Frühstück war sehr gut ausreichend regional und Original meist von seinem Garten jeden Tag etwas neues Abendessen bei ihm empfehlenswert

We had a lovely apartment with a bedroom, bathroom and kitchen with a sink, fridge, stove and amenities. Our host Renuka was extremely friendly, he answered all our questions and helped us plan transport. Would highly recommended staying here! We also did ring making and visited a turtle hatchery and beach within a short walk. There was room in the room or on the balcony to stretch and do yoga. Thanks so much Renuka

Blízko starého města, z terasy bytu (opravdu ložnice, kuchyňka, jídelna a koupelna) koukám do stromů a palem, opice mi skáče nad hlavou že stromů na střechu, ptáci skoro přehlušují ruch ulice... Čisto, útulno, velmi příjemný majitel, skvělá snídaně až "domů" Vřele doporučuji a děkujeme

Clean, quiet and comfortable small apartment about 20 minute walk from the train station. The air con was fabulous and a small refrigerator in the kitchen was great to have. Nice breakfasts and the host also provides dinner for a very reasonable price… was delicious!

Wifi was a bit spotty but the owner did try to solve this issue. Be advised there is a 10% fee attached that doesn’t show on booking.com but as the apartment was reasonably priced , I didn’t mind.
