I truly regret my stay. Full disclosure: I requested a partial refund for the many problems I encountered, but after I gave the host my reasons, she declined.

1. The internet is terrible. I had to unplug the router every day. I had to leave early because I couldn't get any work done, but they did not even refund the days I left early. 2. There is a LOT of construction, and the area is quite ugly. Cars cannot reach it so prepare to carry luggage up many stairs, through construction, etc. from the taxi 3. Teenagers hang out under the bedroom window every night until 2am 4. The hot tub does NOT work. The host is dishonest in the description (see photos). When I told her this was the main reason I picked the place (there are other apartments much nicer and much cheaper) she told me that it is the guests fault if they see pictures of a hot tub and think they can use it!!!!!!!!!!! 5. There is an ugly overstuffed chair in the bathroom that the pictures she posts take great pains to hide. 6. The lighting is terrible...it is dark even with all the lights on as you can see from my photos. The stairs between the bedroom and kitchen, and kitchen and living room, are a little dangerous. Definitely not safe for anyone with mobility issues, kids, older parents 7. A friend visited earlier than planned. Again, the Booking listing was a lie. It said when I booked in March that there was a sofa bed when they knew there wasn't one. They ordered one that arrived too late and the host s mother was in the apartment with workmen all day while I was trying to get work done. 8. I could go on and on. The pots and pans are cheap, the cabinets disorganized, the items in the pantry old, some food like old couscous left opened, rusted spice cans, open boxes of sugar damp from humidity, dirty bottles, etc., Something broke almost every day. All of this and what they offered was that i didn't have to pay the tourist tax of about 30euros.

Martina's is a quiet, quaint, charming, and delightful small house in the medieval part of the city. I recommend it without reservations. And Martina herself manages it, rather than an independent management company which is a major positive.

Being an older building that has been completely renovated, there are a lot of steps up and down within the house that one needs to be aware about, but this also contributes to its charm.

Decent sized apartment, excellent located near the metro station. Its a typical genua building in a narrow pedestrian area. Ncely decorated, it feels like a family home :-) Everything is clean and in working order. Beds are comfortable. At night its quite. Would recommend for short or long stay. Parking, 24 hours 15 euros, at the marine parking just 100 meters from the appartement.

Beautiful guest house. So comfy! Great location, a very short walk to restaurants and metro.

Everything about Martina's was perfect for our stay. First of all the location - despite only being a few minutes from the metro station it was tucked away so no noise late at night or early on a morning. The medieval and port areas of the city are quite compact so you are within 15 minutes of quite a lot of the tourist areas. And easy access to rail services along the Italian Riviera. The apartment itself was fantastic, spacious and cosy at the same time. While being located in an old building it had modern facilities. . Very comfy double bed and large double sofa bed in lounge made sleeping arrangements great for us and our son. Great communication from Martina before, during and after our visit. Would definitely stay again!
