"excellent place to stay, very warm host, St Blasien restaurants/konditorei super nice, good hiking"

super clean, large, high quality, well equipped kitchen, large/modern bathroom, great location to hike

Was very quiet except for busy night-time rodents outside roof and deck. Would be good to discourage them, as they could be heard all night. They are gone during day. Otherwise, super quiet apartment.

"Great stay for independent travelers looking for a remote location to relax."

The host was there when we arrived, which was nice. The location was calm and serene, so we had the type of getaway we wanted. A mix of being off the grid and dabbling into towns every so often.

We had to buy extra toilet paper since we were only provided one, already used roll. I suppose we could have contacted the host, but she was not very good at responding right away. For instance, when we were checking out, we didn't have directions on how to do so, so we tried to contact the host and ended up leaving the keys in an unlocked apartment (not the safest), and then getting a message from her well after we departed.
