Rise and Smile Charming Penthouse

This is a perfect apartment centrally situated in Lucca. Very clean and comfortable furnished in a very traditional and quirky style. The roof top terrace is just amazing and gives stunning views over the rooftops of Lucca.

The only minor points I would highlight is the number of stairs (59) up to the apartment and the small shower cabinet. However these did not detract from the enjoyment of our stay

Amazing location within the city of Lucca. Gorgeous views over the city from the amazing terrace that we loved being upon most evenings. Good air conditioning. Amazing size kitchen and lounge area. Really comfortable place to stay for the week. Will certainly miss my view from the kitchen window with a morning coffee

There are lots of stairs to get to the property so you have to be fairly fit to bring up your luggage on arrival and there are some steep stairs to get to the terrace but for us it made it part of the experience. The shower was quite compact but it was fine for us. It could be noisy on a night time as you are in the town centre but nothing what some good ear plugs and wine didn’t resolve. Lucca has its own electrical plug sockets as not standard European but the house did have some so our dilemma was over quite quickly.

The charm & prettiness of the apartment…very homely and comfy…loved the feel of it….great location…the views especially from the roof terrace wow! The roof terrace too..if the weather had been better…lovely area. Also the interesting views from the windows. Some lovely decorative touches. Privilege to stay there.

The steps only for the carrying of the luggage, but a good workout other than that. Definitely not suitable for anyone with health issues. Just a few little touches that would improve things…ie shower needs some care and attention. Also the kettle needs replacing..handle not safe and leaks.

super location in the old center. steps from Restaurants and shops. interesting ancient building. owner is super communicative and helpful.

all the stairs some without handrails and very dirty. roof terrace a plus if you can climb the ladder stairs and it’s not bad weather. my bed was super soft and squishy, no headboard so sitting up on a bookcase was impossible, kitchen basics very basic. and, living room had seating but hard to sit and relax, no tables, foot stools and odd shapes - we used the table.

Excellent location in centre of town although it was noisy at night. Great views from the terrace.

It wasn't clear from the description that the terrace is 2 floors above the living room. Also the stairs to the flat were steep and dirty and no lights giving a poor impression. There was no comfortable seating, only the sofa bed and upright chairs. Dishwasher not working properly.
