Carpe Diem Apartments

A fantastic apartment. Extremely high standard of interior design with a lot of extra and unexpected nice touches. The host has clearly made a lot of effort to make their guests feel welcome. One of the best equipped kitchens I have experienced in a short stay apartment. Extremely clean. I felt very at home during my stay. The apartment is about 1 mile north of the city centre in a residential area, but is a 10 minute walk from Marques metro station which gets you into the city in a few minutes. It is located in an authentic Porto residential area and although fairly quiet after dark, it felt reasonably safe.

Immediate replies to my communications. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Well equipped kitchen. Very hot shower water. Quality soaps and hair conditioner. Coffee and tea bags provided. Restaurants, supermarket, pizza near by.

The location is good, it is 20-30 min. from the center, if you are tired from all day exploring beautiful Porto, you can use the metro. I had difficulties finding the apartment, as I got confused about the correct metro station, Rafaela was so nice to call me and helped me get oriented. We felt at home right from the beginning. There is everything you need in the apartment, the kitchen is very well equipped and we used it to prepare food from time to time, and some small compliments were left for us. The bed was comfortable, the sofa, everything was perfect and I would definitely use Carpe Diem again when back in Porto. Rafaella and her colleague were very nice, helped us with the suitcases and taught me some Portuguese :) Obrigada :)

The first one is more of a recommendation for improvement: it will be better if the details for registration are being requested a bit earlier (like the previous day maybe) or upon check-in. I was just getting off the train and was in a new town, struggling to find the property when I received the message I had to provide my personal details, look for my ID, I think this is not the best timing. The second one is just my personal taste an it has nothing to do with the accommodation, but the huge dark painting in the bedroom was giving me very creepy vibes, I really disliked it.

Everything, was spacious and well equipped. Good attention to detail. It is a home away from home. Super quiet and secure. Self serve laundry close by that included detergent was a bonus.

We didn't mind the stairs to the apartment. Some reviews complained about them. Yes it is 3 flights but it is well worth it.

The apartment was lovely, well situated for local shops for breakfast and drinks. We had a 3rd person, and he found it comfortable on the sofa bed

Wonderful space, very clean and comfortable. Larger than the photos, very high cellings. Close to the best patisserie Brites ;) Great communication with host.

Big, clean, everything required was available. Bed and pillows very comfortable.

Very clean and felt right at home, beautifully decorated and great kitchen supplies. Plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby

A bit far from the center, but we didn’t mind it was a nice walk and a great way to see the city
