Luz & Alegria Place!

The apartment is located in the old town area which is very easily walkable to everything. There are plenty of very nice restaurants and bars close by. Even with the building restrictions the apartment was very well-kept and well-decorated. It is fully equipt with everything that you need.

We were not able to park our car in the garage since our car is too big even though we mentioned the model of the car ahead of time. We were not informed that the car would not fit until when we arrived. The person who checked us in, Carlos, then informed us that we could park the car on the street in front of the apartment. We did as we were told and our car was towed. Their 24-hour chat channel took 24 hours to respond to our messages. The door to our apartment could not be locked. The shower drain was overflowing. After we informed them (+24 hours to respond) the shower drain seems to be fixed but the door wasn't.

Front door (the main door to 2 properties) didn’t lock. Towel handrail in one of bathrooms kept falling off.

Everything. We had contacted the property to say we would arrive between 3-4 then asked if we could come at 3. We spoke to “Carla” by phone to say that we were running late and we would be there by 4:00. We got a phone call back by a man who we met later who was very abrupt and he said he would meet us at 4:30. He arrived at 4:45 did not apologize and was very rude. 4 seniors between 70-80 had to carry the luggage up 4 flights of very narrow stairs with no help from “Roya?” He just wanted the city tax we owed him in cash and he left. I asked him about the daily breakfast that was advertised as included each day and he said that there was no breakfast. He was very rude. We rented two apartments across from each other. In the one the towel rack fell off the wall when a towel was put on it, the washer and dryer did not work properly. The shower leaked onto the floor. The toilet seat in the second apartment was broken, there was mould in the window of the larger bedroom and when a bag of nuts were left on the counter the first night it was covered in ants the next morning. There was ant spray that we used but we decided not to cook there after that. The television controller did not work. The area that the apartment is in is in a very ruff part of the city.

Shower blocked and laminate flooring in some places cracked

The apartment was spacious. As a group of 6 we had enough room for everything as the apartment occupies whole floor with 2 exact combined apartments and you get double everything. There were 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms with full shower and 2 private toilets for upstair bedrooms. The location is very convenient, short walk to central attractions of Porto. It is very well furnished. We had a very pleasent stay there. Be mindful that since it is a historic building elevator is not permitted and the apartment is located on the top floor so you have to walk up 3 flights of stairs. The host is very easy to communicate, gave us great advices.

The only drawback is that near the apartment some renivation works start very early during workdays and if you want to sleep in it might be a problem. Other than that everything was perfect.

Modern design and good location.

Wifi did not work in most of the apartment. There were no toiletries provided like shampoo and soap for the shower. The 3 flights of stairs were tiring to move luggage up and down.

Near old town. Easy to reach. Quiet area. A lot of space and nice interior.
