The location was just amazing! maybe 50 meters from the ocean :) and the unique opportunity to watch sunsets above the ocean from a balcony :) The hosts are very pleasant and careful, ready to help with everything.

It's quite loud out there due to a road in between the building and the ocean beach. The hosts did all their best to decrease the noise level - good windows and an additional layer of protection (sliding door at the balcony). Just be prepared and bring earplugs to sleep well and have enough energy to enjoy the ocean and Porto.

The host went above and beyond and allowed me an early check in on arrival with prior communication and that was so helpful. The view was GORGEOUS and the space was very comfortable. You can literally lay in bed and watch the ocean! Everything was very clean and the location was perfect - close to a grocery store, restaurants, atm, and of course the beach! There is a washer and dryer, coffee pod machine, and hot water kettle.

Two things to just be aware of when making a decision on this place - while there is a gorgeous view of the beach, there is a busy street between the apartment and the beach/ocean. This means that when you are relaxing on the balcony the street noise can be very loud and drown out the sound of the ocean, it can also be noisy at night but I didn't find it too bad. However, you can just walk across the street to the beach if you want to enjoy without the street noise. The second things is that while there is a coffee machine and hot water kettle provided, there is no coffee pods, tea bags, cream, or sugar provided. I purchased these items at the grocery store but I was only staying for three nights and there is no way to purchase small amounts of these items. It would make all the difference in the world to just provide a few of these things for your travelers. I had to leave the extra behind for the next guests. For what you are paying for the property it doesn't feel like it's too much to ask for 2-3 coffee pods, some tea bags, and some sugar packets.

We stayed here 5 days in January. The large balcony with an ocean view was spectacular. The apartment is located on the first street from the ocean, so we had an unobstructed view and could hear the sounds of the waves crashing. The spa tub was very nice. The hosts, Vitor and Gabriella, were extraordinarily helpful both in communicating before our stay and helping us during our stay, including washing our clothes for us when the washer in the apartment failed to work. However, in general, it is a huge plus to have a washer and dryer in the unit, as it's always an issue to find a way to do one's laundry when traveling. Vitor even ran to catch the bus to central Porto for us, after accompanying us to the bus stop. The accordion doors closing off the balcony helped a lot with the noise from the road in front of the apartment. We had no problem with noise. We were given a welcoming couple of glasses of port upon arrival and on one other day, when our apartment was cleaned and the linens changed, Housekeeping was provided every other day. We enjoyed staying in Foz do Douro instead of in central Porto, as the streets are flatter (I am mobility-limited). There is a long asphalt promenade along the sea right in front of the apartments. There are good restaurants near the apartments. There is a coffee maker in the apartment and a small kitchen.

No elevator to the first floor. The movement-activated lights on the stairs sometimes left the lighting kind of dim. The front door of the apartment building could use a coat of paint. We always found street parking (paid) near the apartment, but the rules for parking were sometimes confusing. Vitor helped a lot with that. The apartment has a pull-down screen to separate the bedroom from the living area, not a solid wall.

Beautiful location. Comfortable bed.

The noise from the road was quite loud. The external doors could be closed but that defeats the the ocean view.
