Villa Anita

Anita was very friendly and helpful. She helped us arrange transfer of our luggage whilst we were hiking. View from apartment was stunning . Close to amenities. We appreciated the homemade cake on arrival !

Perfect little oasis on our bike trip through Mljet. The owners were kind and helpful and the communication was easy. Loved our stay in this gorgeous cove. The view was amazing!!!

The owner was very helpful and made every effort, to the best of her ability, to make our stay as comfortable as possible. She was also very apologetic regarding the cons I have listed. We also found her to be knowledgeable and friendly. She also drove ($)us to the National Park since there was no other means of getting there. I imagine her garden will be amazing in the spring/summer; and the outdoor fireplace, I'm sure, will be great for future guests.

This place wasn't what we expected, however, we (couple on our 60's)were there during off season and also the first guests of the year for this place. We were also a last minute booking, so this explains most of the cons I am listing: 1. Because it is off season, there aren't any cars to rent nor any taxis; and despite how close it looks on a number of maps,it is not within walking distance (nor safe to do so if attempted.) The owner however, and thankfully, does offer driving services ($) and came to get us. 2. There is massive construction going on right beside this apt., which meant we had the constant jack hammering sound until 10pm our first night. We would not have booked had we known this was going to happen. We were out the whole next day so it was not an issue. 3. The cable would not work on the TV, (caused most likely by the construction). The owner made a lot of effort and got help, but it wasn't meant to be. We were tired anyway, so had an early night. 4. We arrived at night and the shop we expected to be open was not, but the very kind owner took ($) us to a shop in a not so near by village. 5. The hot water is not set up in the kitchen but only in the toilet/shower room. We boiled water in the kettle to wash dishes. 6. The shower tiles are extremely slippery when wet, but that's an easy fix. 7. There are quite a number of stairs, but the owner helped with our luggage. I have listed a number of things which I'm certain will not be an issue once summer arrives. The construction going on will be finished in time and is planned to create many spaces for parking.

Pros: - Stunning balcony view overlooking the sea. - The apartment was clean and tidy. - You can get from bed to the sea in 30 seconds - Anita, the owner, was friendly and even treated us to cake!

Cons: Unfortunately our stay at Villa Anita did not work for us very well. - Tap water was often muddy, despite the owner's attempts to resolve it. - The internet was sluggish, with frequent disconnections (we could not open news apps or use YouTube), and the "island problem" explanation didn't match our experience at a different property in the same village. - Upon arrival, there was no check-in process, and reaching the owner was a challenge. - The first night and morning brought cold showers and disruptive outdoor fridge noise, impacting our sleep (these issues were solved the day after we arrived). - Despite being accustomed to minor hiccups during our travels (we usually sleep in a van), we would have appreciated a more apologetic response rather than defensiveness. Overall, considering the 70 euros per night rate, we didn't expect a 4-star experience, but we found better value for money at other village properties. We left after 3 out of the 5 booked days. Unfortunately, the owner canceled our booking after our departure, preventing us from leaving a review. This situation has left us perplexed about the 9.3 booking score, and we're growing skeptical of booking scores altogether.

Spacious apt with wonderful view from balcony. Interior very modern with all necessary supplies.

A great balcony with a sea view. Spent a really nice evening there. The apartment is about 5 mins to the port and around 20-30 mins by car to the national park and has private parking. A great location for a ferry.
