Apartment with private plunge pool at Madara Tulum EARTH 1

Quiet, good location in a nice neighborhood that's fun to explore, private plunge pool, kitchen was well equipped, bike available to use, terraces front and back. There's a convenience store at the corner and many shops and restaurants a few blocks away. There are several cenotes within a 10min bike ride. Host was communicative and flexible when I arrived a day late due to a cancelled flight.

Cleaning should be more meticulously done between reservations. Ex.: I used the provided towels to cover the sofa because it was dirty from previous guests, who also left dirty underwear around the apartment; this would have been easily caught with more attentive cleaning. It's common practice in Tulum for rentals to not provide any drinking water, but because of the heat having a liter or two available on arrival would be nice until you get situated (Tulum tap water is brackish/salty).

The apartment is very modern with highly detailed beautiful decoration. The kitchen is very well equipped with crockery and utensils etc.

We were very disappointed in the level of cleanliness of the apartment - the kitchen was very dirty - all of the dishes, pans and utensils were dirty and even the cabinets had greasy fingerprints all over them. The pool was also dirty upon our arrival and was never cleaned during our stay. We never got to use the barbecue either because it looked like it had never been cleaned and was very rusty. The bed was very squeaky and it appeared as though the sheets had never been changed with crumbs and hair all over them. Even though I said the apartment was well equipped, it was strangely missing essentials like dish soap and bath towels which we had to ask for from a very unfriendly and rude receptionist. This receptionist seems completely uninterested in his job and ignored our presence at all times, never answering any greetings and even during check in keeping his earphones in and staying on his phone. The roads directly around the apartment block are also very rough so it was difficult to drive through.

Amazing appartment, everything you need Is there. Couldn’t expect better, kitchen fully equiped I highly recommend this place.

The road access is really bumpy.

The apartment and facilities are nice. Is quite and secure with a 24hr security guard. Bed is conformable and the bathroom works perfectly with clean non sea water. It has all your need.

The area, this is not the a good area to stay in Tulum if you are thinking a Beach vacation. The road is rundown and is on an non-tourist neighborhood far from the beach. You will need an SUV car for this stay. The place is great good an excellent value.

It is a great affordable apartment! The pool was awesome and we made lots of use of it! The property felt safe with the locked entrance door at night. The air conditioning worked well.

The apartment wasn’t in the nicest area. The roads were unpaved and riddled with pot holes. It took us 20 minutes to walk into downtown tulum so would probably suit a scooter or bike.
