Marinaside Villa - Taupo Holiday Apartment

Good location and plenty of room, 4 bedrooms, 3 toilets and 2 showers. Private parking in garage also. Fully equipped kitchen for cooking, and although we didn't use it, there was also a washing machine etc which would be handy for longer stays.

Only 1 of the 3 bathrooms had a hand towel and there was only 1 loo roll in each toilet, toilet bins also hadn't been emptied. The showerhead in the bathroom in the lowest level was broken, and the half a meter step in and out is a bit dodgy, perhaps a stool would be helpful. Bedrooms on the roadside were a bit noisy at night. Also the top floor (with the kitchen) didn't have any smoke alarms. Kitchen only had 2 coffee mugs, a couple more would be ideal.

The 4th bedroom at the back of a garage had no ventilation and smelt musty and damp from a large water leak on the carpet that was still wet. They knew this was wet and expected us to sleep in a damp musty environment. The apartment is right beside a busy road and was very noisy.

Well located and comfy. All gear for cooking. Rooms are well aired and comfortable.

The only issue we had was with the lower level shower, may require a fix. In terms of the apartments ammenities the heated pool water wasn’t actually warm. DVD player is not working so a smart tv probably would be a good upgrade.

Close Location to town but on a busy road with single glazing-very noisy. Well appointed over 3 levels so lots of stairs. Swimming pool is very close. Security is good.

Electric power point not working. Wifi does not work on second floor where ensuite bedroom is. DVD not working. Gas bottles for BBQ empty. Free standing fan fell into two pieces. Dishes were found, put away wet into the drawer. Kitchen cupboards were untidy. Bachcare were unable to follow through with promise of a portacot. Fortunately we found one in the basement! Advertising failed to identify two lots of stairs so no good for elderly or small children. This was not what one expects for over NZ$ 600 per night!

For what we paid, which was a heck of a lot, this was awful. Bed was not made up, no bath mats, hand towels. Managed to find ill fitting linen late on first night as we're turning in. Rang Bachcare customer service next morning, which should be called Bachdon'tCare as had to make a follow up call from no response! Have made a formal complaint, still waiting on any sort of reply! Very poor service, won't be going there again. Also not suitable for children or seniors as there is 2 flights of very steep stairs between levels.

very very tiny issue the power point didnt work in the bedroom by the Road downstairs. also we had no luck unlocking the lock to the small gate.
