Apartamento Altura

This was a great apartment, located in a quiet part of town, but only 10 minutes from the beach and just over 10 minutes from the main part of town where most of the bars / restaurants were located. There was a good mix of restaurants so you had plenty of choices each night. The apartment itself was very clean and quite large so would easily fit 4 people or more without feeling cramped.

I cant think of anything that would have improved the stay except maybe being slightly closer to the centre of town. But as we said, it was still in a great location

Positives - Location is good, short walk to beaches and restaurants. Living area excellent size and kitchen well equipped. Parking outside. Great patio.

Negatives – bedrooms small, TVs in bedrooms don’t work, sofa in lounge uncomfortable, no welcome pack at all (in 40 years of self catering holidays we have never had any accommodation without even a simple welcome pack). But the worst issue was the bathroom ceiling. When we arrived there were old painted-over stains on the ceiling, obviously an old problem. The second evening we heard dripping in the bathroom and after listening carefully we worked out it was dripping into the ceiling cavity from above. We reported to the agent/owner straightaway who said someone would come the next day – we never saw anyone. 2 evenings later (New Year’s Eve!) we found water flowing out of light fitting in bathroom ceiling. The agent eventually managed to get the upstairs apartment to stop using their bathroom – but the water continued dripped for several hours. We were told it was safe to use the electricity in there, but we didn’t feel safe and didn’t use it for 2 days. Frankly, it ruined our holiday and we almost booked into a hotel. There was no real apology and no offer of alternative accommodation, nor compensation. The day before we flew home, the agent told us that someone would sort out the problem after we left and that they would have to take the ceiling down. This was obviously a pre-existing problem and they should not have rented this apartment out until it was fully resolved. It would have been better if they had been open about this and given us the opportunity to seek alternative accommodation.

Location was great. Facilities were clean and well equipped. Could use some more utensils and dish soap in the kitchen. All appliances worked perfectly.

Beds were not comfortable and pillows were basic with no support. Owner has stated new mattresses have been ordered 👌.
