Stagford Retreat Apartment - Taupo

We really loved our stay, the apartment was beautiful with an amazing outdoor view. The facilities had everything, kitchen items to bathroom and bedroom amenities (except laundry but this is mentioned). The drinks we found on arrival really cheered us up from the long drive that day. Overall the place was clean and the beds were comfy.

We didn’t expect the location to be secluded but it’s not a major issue. I would recommend a full size mirror in one of the rooms.

Fantastic stay, well appointed and comfortable property. A few minutes out of town, but that was fine / convenient with a car. Enjoyed the visit from Ted, the host’s friendly cat.

I have no dislikes about the property.

Lovely quiet spot just a short drive from central Taupo. The rooms are lovely and have everything you need. Great quality bedding and facilities. Clean and tidy.

Not a negative but worth noting that phone reception is very patchy at the property, however there is wifi available.

We loved everything.

Beautiful place and lovely hosts, so relaxing and quiet. It seems relatively new, the design of the place is cozy & comfortable. Beds/couch were also super comfortable and clean, the place itself was very well maintained & fresh. The bathroom connecting the two rooms was very pretty! We loved the shower & the amount of space we had. The views were stunning, super close to food places/supermarkets/shops etc. So grateful for all the kitchen amenities as well, made it very easy to cook/sort out meals instead of having to eat out all the time. Overall amazing experience! Thank you so much :)

A few more lights/brighter lights on driveway/outside the retreat would be perfect! It was quite scary leaving the place at night time as two girls, as it was quite secluded & didn’t have many lights around the property :) We were told there wasn’t any laundry available but there are a few Laundromats nearby - which wasn’t much of a problem for us as we were only there for 2 nights, but I assume if anyone would plan to stay longer they may have trouble with that.

Underated Gem..I would like to share this secret hidaway,

Its nice and silent and not to far from town. And we loved Ted coming to say hi, he was the sweetest thing and made our day💛

Driveway was a bit difficult for bigger cars and a bit difficult because it wasn't straight.

Loved the outdoor bath and comfortable beds. Also appreciated the free range eggs.

Awesome quiet, peaceful location. Thoughtful touches like the heating being on when we arrived and chocolates!
