Bugs in bathroom sink TV didn’t work and was fuzzy

The location was perfect. Loved the quaintness of the property. We spent most of our time taking in the sights of Boston but were very comfortable when we were in our room.

Good location

Deodorizing chemical smell in entry halls, 2 long flights of stairs, room not as pictured in photos, wall paper dirty and peeling, plumbing not sealed or stable, hanging chandelier broken and too low, light too dim in bathroom, bathroom too small with no surfaces or hooks to put anything, street noise with cars and trains too loud, bathroom so I inviting because of plumbing that I dared not take a shower for entire visit (shower drain and handle not sealed properly).

It’s very close to Back Bay station, so if you’re traveling via train, it’s very convenient. The bed was comfortable. Check-in was easy but getting a hold of them re: early luggage drop-off prior to check-in was rather difficult. It has a mini-kitchen (although we didn’t use it). The fridge functions well. There is a small AC unit. (Not super powerful but better than nothing.

First of all, the description of when they charge you is not accurately listed on booking.com. Yes it says the hotel/ apartment can charge you at any time, but in my previous experience this would happen about a week prior to check-in. With this booking, it happened a day after I made the reservation, and for the full amount, too, which I wasn’t expecting. Neither was it mentioned in the description on booking.com that the host would authorise a deposit for “incidentals” after checkin.(I know this is standard procedure for hotels, but since this was an apartment I wasn’t expecting that either. It would have been nice if it was mentioned in the description.) There was no full-length mirror, no trash can in the bathroom, very little hanging space in the bathroom, the water pressure was rather low, couldn’t open the windows easily (after trying for a bit, we gave up), the garbage disposal area was a bit scary (and of course with some rats). No tea kettle. No blackout curtains (bring eye masks). Overall the place felt a bit aged with peeling wall paper etc. (it looked much nicer in the photos). The door to the unit felt rather flimsy and thin. (No sound-proofing). The AC unit is super noisy.There we’re some questionable characters around the building at times.

Noisy. Not expecting to go up 3 flights of stairs.

Location convenient. Comfortable bed. Pleasantly decorated. Good size fridge

Kitchenette was just a very small awkward corner with no lighting and wires trailing from microwave and coffee machine across a tiny sink too small to wash a plate in. Very poorly equipped - apartment in theory to sleep three only had two bowls, two mugs, no teaspoons, no teatowels and one chair. Some simple improvements would be a mirror in the bedroom area, and to have a table and chairs for two people to eat at rather than having a sofabed in the middle of the room to call it a 3 person apartment. dangerous broken floor tile in shower room. Lot of road noise which woke us up early should perhaps be mentioned so guests aware although that didn't spoil our stay.

You could walk everywhere from it

It was very basic which we could deal with but then we spotted two mice in the apartment which was shocking and we had to leave and move somewhere else. Also there was a lot of noise from a nearby road.
