City Retreat Arusha

Central location in Arusha. Easy walk to clock tower & several cafes for coffee & lunch. Also very close to Masai market. After our 10 day Safari the washing machine was much appreciated as was the hot, excellent water pressure showers. Communication with Derik easy & friendly. Loved the gated security of the place too. Internet connection was stable & fast.

Been there with colleagues for 6 nights_march 2026 What I like -Well located in a quiet neighbourhood next to Masai Market_ few minutes walks to Masai Market and Ngorongoro_ -Empathetic service (anticipating needs, not just being polite, friendly landlord). Dereck did answer my whatsapp request as quickly as possible_he offered alternatives according to my needs. -Reliable basics (cleanliness, quiet, comfortable bed) -Practical conveniences (free wifi is working (could watch netflix and youtube on TV , good settings of the house, all bedrooms in upper floor, no mosquitos_ security mesh, power outlets, full kitchen appliances, note a full jar of sugar, yep! good lighting, strong shower pressure, and a house being renovated and redesigned). Great for families or friends or business travellers. -Honest value (no hidden fees, fair pricing)

The location is near Msai market. And we can discuss the tour arrangements with this hotel owner. I have enjoyed the Safari in Serengeti and Ngorongor.

If there is breakfast service, will be much better.

Στο κεντρο της πόλης. Το σπίτι Ήταν αρκετά καθαρό και πλήρως εξοπλισμένο.

Η τιμή ήταν πάρα πολύ υψηλή σε σχέση με την κατάσταση του σπιτιού. Μπήκαν στο σπιτι εργάτες για εργασίες ( βάλανε νιπτήρα ) χωρις να υπάρξει καμία ενημέρωση σε εμας και χωρίς να είμαστε εκεί.

המארח שלנו DERIC - שהוא גם הבעלים של המקום, היה זמין וקשוב 24/7. הוא התקשר אלינו יום לפני ההגעה ושעה לפניה, כדי לתאם פגישה באתר, בה הכרנו ובה הוא גם ערך לנו סיור קצר בבית ומסר לנו מפתחות. קבלת הפנים היתה מקצועית ונעימה. בכל ימי השהייה, DERIC היה מארח מצוין, ענה מיד על כל שאלה וסייע בכל מה שביקשנו.

לפעמים יש קצת רעשים מהסביבה הקרובה, כדאי לקחת זאת בחשבון, כי אחרי הכל מדובר במרכז העיר ולא ניתן לשנות זאת. חשוב לדעת: מדובר ביחידת אירוח חדשה בחצר של בית דו קומתי. הבית נח אבל דורש שיפוץ וחידוש היחידה בחצר חדשה, העיצוב יפה מאוד, ריהוט יפהפה מעץ מלא, מיטה גדולה ונוחה, מטבח נח ומאובזר במה שצריך, מסך טלביזיה ענק, חצר ירוקה וגולת הכותרת - שירותים ומקלחת עם גג שקוף לשמיים (:

The property was nicely laid out and the bedrooms were large. The bathroom had a good shower and internet connection was stable and fairly fast.

Although the property had an outside gate, I didn’t feel that safe as the front door could not be locked properly - this could be quickly and easy resolved so hopefully the owners does so asap. Basics were missing from the property such as bin liners and property felt a little dirty in places. Again, this could easily be resolved very cheaply and easily.

Great location, close to the clock tower and restaurants. Very big, 6 beds! Nice host.
