"incredibly kind owners, great location, very good value for money"

6.0

the family running the place are incredibly warm and kind and loving. they were exceedingly kind to us and went out of their way to help us find somewhere to eat late at night and make our stay comfortable- really they are incredibly nice people! the place is very close to the chocolate hills so in a great location if you’re deciding to go there. it’s also surrounded by nature and greenery around so it’s very relaxing. they also have a cute pond with fish swimming right outside the door which is a sweet touch.

my husband and I suffer from awful allergies so we are very sensitive to dust and mould or any other common allergens and because the place is made by natural fibres the water and rain from outside I think penetrates through and the room has a slight smell of damp to it and my husband and I were coughing a lot at night - but most people will probably not have any issues we are just very sensitive with our allergies.

"In general, very lovely!"

8.0

Such a lovely place. Rooms are lovely huts set in the middle of paddy fields a short ride away from the main Chocolate Hills viewing point. The family are incredibly welcoming and friendly. They arranged a scooter for us to rent and served an amazing breakfast which was huge! Our hut was spacious and basic, just a bed, table and chair and fan but we don't need more than that. The bathroom was small though (you have to shimmy around the toilet to get to the shower and sink). Everything was nice and clean and we didn't have any issues with creepy crawlies or mosquitoes because the nets on the door and windows were great. The garden area is wonderful with several koi ponds so you can say hello to the fish and laugh at the noises they make as they suck the walls. At night there are frogs, in the morning roosters (of course! it's the Philippines!) and it is just off a road so bring ear plugs. We enjoyed our stay here.

The shower was just a dribble and there was no toilet seat! The outdoor lighting was a bit harsh. It's in an amazing place for stargazing but we had to walk out on to the road away from all the lights to see anything.

"Unique experience staying with incredibly hospitable owners"

9.0

Amazing owners who did everything to make our stay enjoyable, including asking us to join them for dinner when they were having a big family reunion after 4 years apart. lovely little location sitting alongside rice paddies and little fishing ponds inside the rooms.

This is a very rustic little guesthouse and you should expect to get what you pay for. the smaller robes are very small but they have a very clean and comfortable bed. Only very minor room for improvement would be to clean the communal bathroom more frequently to remove the old soap bars and shampoo sachets. And remember that it’s just a cold water shower which we knew about abs it was actually very refreshing.

Caretaker helped me find a scooter with a driver.

This is a real feedback from a real human being. This feedback is not intended entirely to the owner/caretaker, and is not intended to degrade anyone. Just pure feedback based on my experience. I tried booking the property because why not? It's in the middle of the rice field (which is great). The property is just beside the road. Also, it's near carmen. Yup! It has everything that I wanted. Except, the fact that the property is not the ideal place to live in. Front Desk: I arrived around 1pm-ish and it took around 10 minutes for the owner/caretaker (I really don't know) to assist me. Okay! I forgive you on that one (coz why not? I am patience). Room: No room keys. Bathroom has coachroaches. Shower is broken. Ceiling shows it's not properly tended (some parts show like it's ready to fall). Room shows it was not cleaned properly. Bed: Never mind. I paid for the family room because I wanted to have a private bathroom. Far from the photos shown on the description box. My bed has proper bedding and linen (as expected since I paid for it). The supposed "other" double bed is the worst. It was dirty. It would've been better if they took it out instead of displaying it in the room since I'm not gonna use it anyway. Last time I checked, I only have one body. I wasn't able to take photos of the room because I did not stay long. I just left my bag to go for an ATV ride. After the atv ride and tour, I came back to the property and checked out immediately because I am not comfortable sleeping in the room. I cannot describe how disappointed I was with this experience. Paid 1K and got nothing in return. You should've been more honest to your customers. I don't know where your good feedback(s) came from. But based on my experience, you're so not worth it. Totally disappointed! But thank you for looking a scooter with a driver for me. That's plus one for you. 🤗

the owners are super nice. There was a small kitchen and water to drink. The location was in the middle of Bohol next to the rice fields, which gave the whole place a special charm. Small supermarket was nearby. We would come back straight away.

"Traditional Philippine Nipa Hut Accommodation nestled between the Farm, Fish pond, Valley and Hills."

10.0

The Family host are friendly, accomodating and delivers a personalised service coming from their heart. My Family enjoyed our stay in this traditional nipa hut accommodation with electric fan, at nite time.. good cool breeze ...that, we have to turn the electric fan off. We opened the windows and doors at nite for the cool natural breeze to come in... No mosquitoes, as there are Mosquito screens attached to windows and door. My children got an upgraded room with own toilet and shower, we booked 2 rooms. We are from the city and it was such an authentic experienced to stay next to the rice field with fish pond and magnificent view of the farms, valley and hills. Breakfast was generously prepared delicious! and Coffee provided. If you want to experience a traditional Philippine Nipa hut Home, this place is perfect! My children got the privileged to feed the variety of fish in the pond which exceeded our expectations, as they had such a memorable experienced ...as well as my husband enjoyed chilling and drinking at the front balcony and looking at the fishes. We ate dinner at Basak Bistro as recommended by the host after Chocolate Hills trip, the cozy restaurant is just less than 2 minutes drive and chocolate hills, 6 minutes drive from accommodation The meals, pizza and halo halo were fantastic! Pangas Falls is the nearest accessible water falls, a short drive as well from the accommodation, Amazing view! and have a hanging bridge nearby.... We will miss pocoycoy, their friendly lovely sweet dog. ... Best place to stay near chocolate hills bohol and to experience a traditional raw and authentic Filipino basic way of living... A Relaxing environment....makes you to connect with nature, live simply and stay humble.

Occasional ....on & off motorcycle noise on the road at nite time... Which is usual in the Philippines... I'm a light sleeper... My children and husband are heavy sleeper so... They did not hear anything....
