Old Town Views Bilbao

Das Apartment ist einfach super schön eingerichtet mit viel Platz für uns 3 Personen und die Lage ist top. Die Altstadt mit zahlreichen Restaurants liegt quasi direkt gegenüber. In der Nähe, ca. 3 Minuten zu Fuß sind Bus-und Bahnhaltestellen und auch die Metrostation sowie der Bahnhof sind fußläufig zu erreichen.

Eigentlich nichts.

Die Lage war sehr gut. Die Wohnung ist sehr geräumig und schön eingerichtet. Die Agentur ist sehr nett und reagiert sofort.

Viel zu laut, weil drei Kneipen direkt vor dem Appartment liegen: Lärm von 12 Uhr mittags bis ca. 3 Uhr nachts, weil auch nach Schließung der Kneipen weiter gefeiert wurde (August). Vieles müsste in dieser Wohnung in Ordnung gebracht werden, weil es defekt ist.. Wir haben uns über vieles geärgert, wollten unseren Urlaub aber nicht mit ständigen Handwerkerbesuchen vermiesen. Wir hatten für den Preis eine TOP-Wohnung erwartet, ist es aber leider überhaupt nicht!

Lovely design, a lot of separate rooms and places to organise your items.

Neighbours can be loud in the evenings, especially on Saturdays (there are 2 cafes below and some meeting points for different people).

Fabulous apartment within walking distance to everything, but also so close to the tram stop! Across the canal and a 2 minute walk from the Ribera Market, and Old Town. Very noisy at night, especially weekends, but worth it for the wonderful apartment and vibrant neighbourhood!

The overhead lights in the bathroom make a very high pitched buzzing noise. Just fyi. We just used the lights over the mirror instead.

The location is great and the flat very spacious. Lift on site, amazing views, great eateries and bars around. Is a good place, really, but it needs so improvements, the owner (or admin) should stay there for a couple of days to gather an idea of what is needed.

Huge lists of things to improve, just to mention a few: the mattresses were horrendously uncomfortable, one room didn’t have curtains and had a glass door to the hall (so light coming to it from the inside and the street, also no privacy!), the toilet was broken for two days, we had to use buckets, and though the staff tried their best to sort it asap is something that should be prevented, paying guests should not have to worry about these things! The electric heaters in two rooms didn’t work, they were incorrectly set, again the staff tried to fix them but still they didn’t work (another thing guests shouldn’t have to worry about and keep reporting). No hand soap, no sufficient toilet paper, box of used matches, cupboards very high and no step to reach).

The location of the apartment was superb - close to buses and trams. We were able to walk to lots of places and ramped up thousands of steps every day. We were advised by the host to buy a travel card (one card to be used by all three of us) which made our many trips around Bilbao very cheap indeed! The views of the river and old town from the apartment were lovely. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed and more in the kitchen. The area outside the apartment is very clean as is all of Bilbao. We were close to the Opera House and were able to watch an excellent performance of Carmena! The Guggenheim was an amazing experience even though one floor was closed. The outside of the building is phenomenal and looks different as the light changes. We also visited the nearby traditional art gallery and the extremely interesting Maritime Museum, which is well worth a visit to learn about the history of Bilbao! People are very friendly in the city and were always helpful in directing us to where we wanted to go. We had some very good fish in the restaurants, notably the fish restaurant opposite the Guggenheim- delicious fresh tuna!

The only problem was the noise from the bars below the apartment. The noise stops at 11pm on most days, but on Friday and Saturday seems to go on to 3.00am. Having said that it was probably worth it for the amazing apartment and the super holiday we experienced!!
