Apartma na Ravnicah

A lovely large apartment in a great rural location, well equipped with the bonus of an infrared sauna in the bedroom and a well stocked kitchen! We appreciated our friendly hosts gifts of garden vegetables, eggs and some local schnapps - it made us feel very welcome.

Guests should note that the hot tub advertised is likely a mistranslation of 'bath'.

The apartment was very comfortable, it had everythimg that was needed. The view from the apartment is spectacular, we couldn't imagine a better one. Marija and Tomas are wonderful hosts, very friendly and helpful. We recomend strongly the place.

The apartment is located in a quiet and peaceful area up on the hill. A quite steep, narrow and curvy road leads to it from the town, but one gets used to it after a few trips driving up and down. There is a stunning view from the hill down to the valley and to the surrounding mountains. The apartment is quite big, comfortable and clean, enough to accommodate 6 adults. It is very well equipped. The hosts are exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had a little accident and they did everything they could to assist us.

Finding restaurants nearby is a bit difficult, especially later in the evening.

The apartment looks much better than on the photos. It is beautifully located, around 300 meters above the nearest town, Cerkno, with great mountain views all around. A trail to the nearby Porezen peak starts just outside the door. The apartment is spacious, fully-equipped, and very well stocked. The kitchen has everything you might need to cook a substantial meal. As part of the rental, you get access to your own, covered outdoor sitting area with a large table and barbecue - and an amazing view down the mountain! Our hosts were just departing for their on holiday, but their parents / in laws were around for anything we needed. We were given fresh eggs, tomatoes, and peppers from the family garden, which was really kind (and delicious). The parking facility outside the apartment is great and definitely useful in this very hilly environment. On that note: you need a car that will go up and down some pretty steep hills to move around this area. There are no facilities in walking distance without taking a hike down to Cerkno.

Super clean, very spacious, well equipped appartment with a lovely big garden to sit outside, both shade and sun and an AMAZING view across the mountains. Comfortable beds. The owners are super nice and friendly. If you are looking for a relaxed, quiet holiday with lots of nature and hiking possibilities, this is the place to be! Make sure you buy your groceries in Cerkno before coming up the hills though :) When in the area, make sure you visit the following two super interesting places: 1) Franja Partisan Hospital (Slovene: Partizanska bolnica Franja), a clandestine hospital from WWII. You can drive to the parking or reach it within 1 hour by foot from the appartment. 2) a guided tour through the mercury mine in Idrija There is a public beach spot at the Idrija river which is super cool to swim and hang out. Clean water! It is called Območje Lajšt.

It was simply perfect. Just know that the road leading to the place is narrow and steep at times but it is really doable. No need to be afraid. The way up is definitely worth the view!
