We checked in with a 4 month old infant and were greeted by a cockroach infestation, made the manager aware and she didn’t care all she could emphasize was that there’s no refund, she expected us to stay in a unhygienic cockroach infested place with an infant. The place is unhygienic and disgustingly infested with roaches. Checked out the next day, I was told repeatedly that there’s no refund. Scam of a place, you’re lured in to roach infestation and told no refund. So I must put my family’s lives at the mercy of roaches and all the filthy bacteria they carry and risk disease only to be told “there’s no refund”. Utterly disgusting.

I am writing to express my concerns regarding a recent booking I made for accommodation in Durban at the Shaka Holiday Apartments, which is rated 8.3 on your platform. Could you please clarify who provided this rating? Upon our arrival, we were immediately confronted with several alarming safety issues that made us feel uncomfortable and unsafe during our stay. We encountered individuals loitering near the entrance attempting to sell drugs, as well as witnessing instances of prostitution in close proximity to the property. These experiences raised significant red flags about the overall security of the area. Furthermore, upon inspecting our apartment, we found that the locks on our door were inadequate and did not provide a sense of security. The safe provided was also non-functional, adding to our concerns about safeguarding our belongings during our stay. To make matters worse, there was no air conditioning available; it was uncomfortably hot inside the apartment. Given these serious issues affecting both safety and comfort, we felt compelled to leave immediately and sought alternative accommodations at Hilton Hotel instead. As such, I would like to formally request a refund for my booking since we paid for early check-in but ultimately did not utilize any part of the accommodation. It was very clean the stuff was doing a great job

The rooms has no privacy when travelling as a family

The location

You had to fetch everything yourself at the reception. The receptionist (lady) was not patient when it was check out time - she stood there till we were done dressing oh which we found so rude. The security guard is drunk almost all the time and not immediately available at the door. Cars are parked outside - no inside parking.

The receptionist was so friendly, so helpful always available to assist . The place was clean and convenient for the kids . The staff did a good job and were friendly

Stairs , they should try to atleast get people to carry our bags or put elevators
