Marietta's Resort by Konnect, Gouvia Corfu

I needed somewhere to stay, close to Corfu airport for one night as I was meeting up with the rest of my party who were already on the island the following day. Marietta's offered good value for money and was 20 minutes drive from the airport (I arrived fairly late at night). As I was only staying for the night and my check out time was 10.00am I didn't really have time to check out the food offering and only had a quick coffee at the bar. The woman who served me and the other customers was super friendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. My room was clean with a good sized balcony.

I would have regretted my booking if I had booked for the entire length of my stay on Corfu (10 days). I booked as a solo traveller but the 1 bed apartment I booked looked like it was geared for up to 4 occupants. In addition to the two single beds in the bedroom there were two daybeds in the kitchen / living room. I didn't like that there were no actual chairs to sit on as the day beds were metal framed at the back with no cushions and were too deep to sit on comfortably. I didn't prepare any food, but there were preparation facilities in the room. There was air-conditioning in both rooms, but I could only operate it in the bedroom as the remote control was missing for the living area. The units were different types, so it wasn't as if I could use one remote for both. This wasn't an issue as it was raining while I was there, but would have been annoying if I was there for longer. I'm sure the staff would have resolved it if I brought it to their attention, but I would like to think a room would be checked over beforehand. The refrigerator was very noisy. When I arrived there was only one member of staff around (there were a few people still in the bar area). He asked one of these customers to show me to my room, which was a fairly unusual approach to customer service!

This is a wonderful family run hotel in Gouvia. There is everything you need. Nice swimming pool, good breakfast and especially the owners are very helpful and friendly. You will feels like to stay at home. The distance from hotel to Gouvia town is just only 10 minuest walk. We have arrived 2-3 hours before check in time but they let us check in early because the room was ready, which we were so happy. Definietly come back again if we have an opportunity to be back to Corfu :)

Ottima posizione, piscina molto bella, ambiente tranquillo e rilassante. Ottima la cucina, avevamo la mezza pensione e abbiamo mangiato benissimo tutte le sere. Marietta e la sua famiglia sono stati davvero cordiali, gentili e disponibili e ci hanno fatto sentire a casa!

Het personeel was zeer behulpzaam. Er was een fijn zwembad met ligbedden. Het eten in het restaurant was heerlijk, beetje prijzig, maar erg goed. De kamers waren ruim, de bedden redelijk. We hadden ontbijt bij geboekt en dat was heerlijk. Je kon kiezen uit meerdere soorten ontbijten kreeg daarbij ook koffie/thee en verse jus d'orange. Balkon met uitzicht op het zwembad.

De badkamer viel tegen, een douche met douchegordijn, was ook vies. Het douchegordijn was ook groter dan de douchebak, dus was de hele vloer nat van de badkamer.
