9 Ipanema Umhlanga 5 Sleeper garden unit next to The Oyster Box Hotel

Location was perfect. However we did not have any sea view as was in the pictures when we booked. The Host communicated quite adequately. The housekeeper was very friendly and accommodating. the guards at the entrance gate were very friendly as well.

The unit is in urgent need of TLC. The front gate did not lock; we could not close the expanda gate; so we as females felt very insecure Dishes and furniture provided were insufficient for 5 females that booked. had to message the owner for spoons; glasses etc. Even the chairs were less; we had to improvise. the lounge area only had one sleeper couch so all our plans for socialising in that area went up in flames. Definitely not child friendly or for older people as the spiral staircase was a a hazard as well as the bunkbeds were not very steady. We had to remove the mattress from the top bunkbed and put on the floor and sadly one of my friends had to sleep on that. The single bed was very creaky and uncomfortable. Aircon [only one unit] in the main bedroom. the outside verandah are was not cleaned so we could not use that area as well. the back exit gate had the latches too high. We were all short women and could not use that gate unfortunately.. The pictures versus what we got was totally different.

The location was good and the pation and overall layout of the apartment was nice. Owner was also accessible

The beds and bedding definitely needs upgrading and also the cleaning fee which you pay but do not receive the benefit of having someone to actually clean during your stay.

Não tinha as coisas básicas necessárias numa casa, por exemplo sabonete de tomar banho, taças de vidro e etc...

The location to beach, entertainment and amenities was great.

The cutlery, crockery and bedding was substandard. The fridge was not working properly and was supported by a towel underneath it. One couch in the lounge for 4 adults is not practical. A little TLC would really do wonders. Apartment is on a busy road, so quite noisy from passing cars.
