Amazing Duplex at Alfama

The property is in a lovely location about 15min walk from the main part of lisbon, discrete area and impeccable cleaning.

It can be loud at times due to people passing by (but after walking around lisbon the exhaustion overpowers the noise), cockroaches in the kitchen (although this is common in properties in Lisbon; especially in the summer it would be good for a maintenance check in case it gets worse), toilet seat broken and pillows completely flat (need replacing).

Really noisy!! Not able to sleep

Great location. Spacious apartment. Clean kitchen area.

Window is broken - it literally fell off it's hinge when we opened it on the first night and was really hard to close it again. The description says the apartment has a sofabed - but it is NOT a sofa bed and doesn't convert - it is a small sofa that you can't sleep on. The shower door is broken and it smells musty. It is very noisy - we bought ear plugs and wore these the second night (thankfully). The toilet seat is cracked and the other one is marked. The bed is very squeaky & soft. Letter in the apartment saying 20Euros would be charged for any towels that were damaged / make up on them etc. The towels were so small and thin - this felt excessive. Don't forget the 2Euros city tax per perrson per day that had to be left behind in the key locker.

Gorgeous part of Lisbon in the Alfama district. Lots of cute little restaurants, bars and shops nearby. You’re a maximum of half an hours walk along the flat front into the centre of Lisbon or you can get public transport. Spacious apartment for two people. Loved the addition of a hair dryer, iron and full ironing board as well as a clothing rail and massive mirrors to get ready in. Really impressive first look. Two bathrooms as well which wasn’t expected.

Like many others have commented: 1. The noisy bed - oh dear. Okay for people that don’t move in their sleep or don’t get up to any other activities… if you do, it’s SO SQUEAKY 😂 2. The apartment is in a noisy area because there’s a few restaurants directly outside. We thought we had a bit of bad luck to catch a night where they were doing the bin collection at 2am, but it turns out that they collect bins every night! Bring ear plugs! 3. The towels they leave there are quite cheap and skimpy. Just a picky thing on my part. 4. The bathroom was a bit grubby. Cracked toilet seat, dodgy shower door, very small shower cubicle, no body wash and a cockroach. Nothing that’s not ‘passable’ but had to knock the review down for that.

Loved the location right in the heart of Alfama - just steps from many eateries and Metro. Upstairs/downstairs allowed us room to spread out.

Each night about 12 midnight or 1 am the garbage collection service would start and the noise was deafening. Water pressure and shower was a little funky - it is also needing hooks to hang towels to dry or even for the hand towel. These kept ending up on the floor.

The location is just right! And the restaurant downstairs is one of the best in the neighbourhood. The apartment is modern and slip in two floors.

The windows are all broken and they don’t lock well. When we arrived we found water on the kitchen’s floor. The house had a major leaking coming from the apartment upstairs. The mattress is way too soft and the bed squeaks every time you breath and move. Very annoying. I could not sleep well unfortunately.
